Yeah, that would've been nice. But then this thread would probably only be 900 pages of pics/"aww" posts without all of the hypothetical arguments! What fun would that be really?yukidama wrote...

Yeah, I think one of the problems with leaving DA so open ended is it makes it extremely hard to maintain continuity across titles when they have no set canon. I'd personally prefer a canon storyline (as far as the major decisions go) if it meant the story could continue with fewer holes in it... but I'm sure that idea won't go over well here.yukidama wrote...
After Awakening I lost all hope. Now I just don't even care. I'd like a continuation but they don't seem to give a damn one way or another so whatever. I'll just wait and see, as much as it bothers me that they even make games with such a multitude of choices and don't bother to conclude them properly. :/
That's why I think DA should have been one game with a conclusion. Any expansions would take place during the campaign and not alter anything too heavily. I like things to be wrapped up neatly, not just left with a dozen loose ends dangling annoyingly in my face. It is precisely because I like the characters and world DA takes place in that all the shortcomings and stupid mistakes are that much more bothersome.
Please. The sacred ash trailer is hardly canon.Axekix wrote...

If they had to pick, I'm betting he's what they would go with. I mean even all the Awakenings trailers featured a HNM warrior.yukidama wrote...

He's not really canon, though. You can't play as him in the game unless you make up his story and download a morph that looks like him. It's not like Shepard. He was just put in the trailers because they had to represent a Warden somehow...

Yeah kinda. I think CEF is actually my favorite origin (specifically better than CEM). But CEF loses out on the big plot twists like knocking up Morrigan, so bleh.Addai67 wrote...

You're probably right. And since I'm betting that if everyone had to pick just one canon playthrough those who picked HNM would be far outnumbered by the combined HNF, DE, CE, EM, HM, DC, and DN. It would be so utterly stupid and pointless and make all the different Orzammar/Circle/Dalish dialogue, the entire romance with Alistair, the option to be Queen...it would just basically ruin the game if only that were 'correct.' And that goes for any origin they might choose to validate above the others.Axekix wrote...

Does it? I've played one male character and the rest female and Morrigan's only ever not gotten her demon baby twice in my playthroughs and those were just seeing the US, WC, and Redeemer ending. As far as the actual fate of the character goes...demon baby.Axekix wrote...

Yeah, it's tricky. If they don't however, I don't see many realistic ways for them to continue the story without just jumping ahead in time like what happened with the Kotor series (and even those have canon characters).Sarah1281 wrote...

Yeah but... then Alistair has to do it... or Loghain. That's gross.yukidama wrote...

Well, the male warden is not necessary for Morrigan's god baby... It's still a pretty big plot point regardless.

No more gross than any other Warden doing it
They can make certan decisions canon (like, say, Morrigan has her demon baby, Alistair and Anora take the throne togeter, Harrowmont's ruling in Orzammar) and not saying anything about your Warden's gender or origin. You could, as a male, knock her up no matter your origin or you could have Alistair or Loghain do it. Who cares if it's 'icky'? It's a matter of survival and they'll both do it.Axekix wrote...

Still, do not want awkward Morigan/Alistair sex. God that would be the worst thing they could make canon

The squee of the evening, Idun got her rose. In the Dalish camp, no less. I confess I clicked accidentally on him when we were somewhere else, realized it was rose time, so I reloaded and picked a quiet little spot. I figure she was showing him around the camp, maybe showing him where the privy is and how to use it. LOL I picture Alistair sitting on the pot trying to work up the courage to give her the rose, while Idun stands outside and finally yells "are you alright?!" Finally he appears and shoves the rose at her... Oh Maker, I love the Alistair romance. There is so much LOL andall at once.

Just want to say that while I'm not an elf fan in general, I love your passion for elves. I love hearing you talk about Dalish related stuff and how you go out of your way to show all the cool stuff related to being a dalish elf. It's also interesting to hear how a Dalish would react to a romance with a human as opposed from the dwarven perspective.Addai67 wrote...
I uploaded a few Dalish videos tonight- talking to Sarel about the werewolves and Lanaya about her background and Zathrian. Interesting that Sarel admits several times that Zathrian is lying. I gather these two do not get along, but I'm sure the fact that Sarel's wife died from the curse brought this to the fore.

But really, it is so overwhelming for a Dalish PC to have Alistair turn on the charm. The last thing you expect from a shemlen man. I had Idun laugh it al off a bit, but that was to cover up the fact that her head was spinning. For her, there is also guilt about having feelings for a man while she doesn't even know what happened to Tamlen. God, I dread what is coming. But at least there will be closure.
I don't know...you'd think in the Dalish camp with all the shem-hating elves would really not be the best place for Alistair to have a confession of liking to a Dalish girl that, if she feels the same way, will potentially have human children (I know they can't but do the Dalish?) and that's pratically the worst case scenario for Dalish clans. What if the Dalish overhear that? That's not going to endear them to the Wardens.Axekix wrote...
