I dunno, I don't dislike good characters on their own. I dislike them when they're good without faults and never make mistakes and everyone loves them for no particular reason other than the light that shines out their holy bum lol.

I picture my Warden being more like the Leliana in the sacred ashes trailer. Pious but badass. She's pray as she kills the evil things/people and she "tries to be merciful...sometimes"

Lady D- I think that sums it up, but what would make her realise what she did? Also, no I keep whatever ending I choose for each character. But I was thinking they have an ending something like at the end of Bram Stoker's Dracula (the movie)

This rp business has helped me get into my characters better. I need help though because my creativity is lacking.

Good girls are hard to rp with any depth, maybe that's my problem. It's like being a cross between Wynne and Leliana.

It depends how you rp.  My canon HNF is a good girl, but she struggles with a lot of stuff.

It's hard for me to find a struggle within Caislyn. my HNF was easier. She had that whole Highever "someones gonna bloody pay for this sh*t" thing goin on. But Caislyn, she's pious and good, teacher's pet, The worst thing she's done (until my kids get to bed...lol) is kiss Cullen.

Someone who spares Loghain and marries him to Anora?  The tapestries would be too good for them, let alone the real thing!  My husband just did that in his DEF game.  Unhardened Alistair, even.  :crying:

*whimpers*  Why is everything in my life pain tonight?  Posted Image

This is how differently my Anora-lovin' husband sees the game.  To him this is giving Alistair the good life without any responsibilities.  Ugh.  Don't ask me, I can't account for his taste in women.  LOL

LOL  At least he did well with you, right?  Anora...well....

Posted Image So she kills Archi and sees him in the light or something. I am really not good at this.

Just read it, and I'm curious as to why this character would want Alistair executed (following a romance).
I may rag on Alistair, but he's nothing if not sweet.  He'd probably treat her better than any other man she's ever had in her life.  So... erm... what's her motivation for killing him again?

B/c she is broken in the head.  She doesn't understand love, or that he's really in love with her.  She doesn't even realize herself that she loves him.  She has no context to gauge those feelings.  It's something she's never, ever known.  And she changes during the Blight.  She starts off very compliant, willing to do whatever.  She sort of grows a backbone during that year and comes to realize just how jacked up her lfie has been.  There is a lot of rage and resentment there and Alistair ends up the focus of it.

The Landsmeet is the trigger because she's deciding something and he challenging it and telling her what to do.  Something in her kind of snaps.  It is not sane, it is not rational.  It's not supposed to be.  She is broken in so many ways that she will probably never be whole again.  It's a decision she will regret later when she comes to truly understand what she had, but by then...  Yeah.

That sum it up, cmess?

Heh, I also told cmess she needs to make a seperate save and give her a happy ending.  And if she doesn't I will probably write one anyone.  XD

Ah, I see.  That's a rather interesting way to play it.  So the poor girl spends her entire life being used and abused by people... finally finds freedom, discovers herself and falls in love... then kills the one person that ever truly cared for her?  Brutal stuff.

I don't think I could play that for 40+hrs but kudos to you gals for thinking outside the box!  Damn.

cmess:  You mean after you execute him?  I think it's a gradual thing.  She feels weird and doesn't really understand it.  Maybe talking to someone like Zevran or Leliana could help her figure it out.  Or it could once she settles into a normal life and starts to heal it'll hit her.  It could go one of several ways.

Wynne makes head hurt. Leliana is good. (I have to say that so she will be mistress to consort-Cousland)

Wynne is good, I do like her on most of my characters. Tryna won't I don't think, and I know for fact Jaina is probably going to have her spitting nails. But for a Cousland, or a mage that didn't hate the circle, she really fills the mentor/substitute mom role well for them. Plus she cracks me up...I had her talking about pudding this time, and I like that you can poke fun at her age and she takes it in stride. I like that she's snarky at times, and saracastic. And I do like how she makes Alistair blush constantly.

She doesn't really realize what she found.  She just doesn't understand it.  It's totally foreign to her.

Yeah, Zevran's Rinna story and Leliana talking about Marjolaine could remind her of her own unknown feelings and she might be able to make a connection.

It sounds like she needs a character arc. And maybe flesh out her backstory more, so you can feel why she is good. And if she's always been pious and good, then being thrown out into the world would be a little bit of a shock for her. Smiting the darkspawn will be an easy choice, but killing men? When you get to lothering and have to kill bandits, and kill regular men who are so needy they are willing to do kill you to get a few coins -- that might give her some kind of crisis or struggle.

I usually do most of the sidequests (extra xp/cash!) and don't skip dialogue so nope (also I play on NM).  My games are usually 40-50 hrs.

Edit: tops!
