Damn why is the Dalish talk every time happening, when I'm awaySarah1281 wrote...
Okay, I know GWs can't have children together but if fertility were not affected then would the DE/Alistair pairing still be so attractive as she'd be sacrificing her heritage to pop out human babies or would that make her think twice?
Anyway, for my Dalish he is all that she has left, that little piece of happiness she never expected to find among/in the death, foreign, frightening world and tragedy, especially not in a human man. Sure, she could return to her clan after the blight, but it wouldn't be the same anymore. She had already noticed that while being in the Dalish camp for the treaty. It isn't the place where she belongs anymore, it didn't felt right. She has just changed too much to be able to pick up her old life afterwards, as if nothing has happened. She had moved on, while her clan is still the same.
And besides that she would rather rip herself apart than to give this fraction of happiness up, so no. Considering Alistair she is all "I love him, screw the rest of the world. I don't care."

That is an interesting fact, no less. I never have seen it in that kinda light. Will help me to figure it out for my FF (I love little details like that) as well as all the videos do. Thanks <3Addai67 wrote...
I uploaded a few Dalish videos tonight- talking to Sarel about the werewolves and Lanaya about her background and Zathrian. Interesting that Sarel admits several times that Zathrian is lying. I gather these two do not get along, but I'm sure the fact that Sarel's wife died from the curse brought this to the fore.
I think Idun is going to try to put him off as long as she can. On the way to the tent, she'll still be saying, "I'm an apostate to your people, you shouldn't do this." While she's got her tongue in his ear, of course.Yup. Although Aeris is no Dalish, I experience the same with her right now. Alistair the elf-magnet, it is indeed fascinating to see it working live in action every time. But really, it is so overwhelming for a Dalish PC to have Alistair turn on the charm. The last thing you expect from a shemlen man. I had Idun laugh it off a bit, but that was to cover up the fact that her head was spinning.
Considering my Lenya, well this will be one complicated thing for various reasons, I can tell.
Though more I won't tell because it gives to much away of my FF:innocent:

Been my experience those proper and prim, mild mannered ones kinda cut loose once they get the chance to let their hair down. She may be shy about it at first but then WHAMMO!! And nothing says she can't be a bit competitive cause Circle politics like anywhere else seem kind of cutthroat in the game. She was Irving's star pupil and picked on by other mages at the tower (if you played it that way?) and would've made her more willing to grab what she wants.

I have RPed mages who were extremely squirrelly precisely because of the repressive nature of the Tower. When they finally get their freedom, they want to taste all life has to offer.Lady Jess wrote...

I did play that, it is hard not to when you hear the snark as soon as you wake up. I'm kind of thinking that competitive streak (excel or end up tranquil!) is what makes her cut loose and go for it. Grab the happy when you can. Especially after seeing the tower, all those mages dead without having really lived, that templar only able to find happiness through a desire demon's thrall...

I did envision her a bit like Sigrun. I imagine her party finds her standing and staring at the sky, or laying in tall grass smiling frequently. I don't want to make her into that naughty school girl type though, her beliefs are important to her. But maybe what I said up there will work, competition teaching to go for what you want, and the destruction at the tower pushing home how fleeting life is.

I didn't see that yesterday either. I think she might think on it with sorrow, but when it finally came to it, she would greet children happily.
She's already come to realize that she's not just Dalish anymore - She's a Grey Warden too and that makes her unique from amongst her people. The only reason she can even consider being with Alistair is because he's clan in a different way, and so just the same way, they'd be raising clan together, of a sorts.

My first mage was deleted becaue the landsmeet killed her. my second, Evielle, I didn't RP at all. So this one I'm trying to play AND rp, but it's been a challenge since she's my only character without a real traumatic origin.

If elves begin to lose their elvishness simply by close contact with humans, I'm going to say yes.AnniLau wrote...

Another reason why a Dalish Warden would not be likely to go back to her clan. She's been in close contact with humans for over a year and, fair or not, would be seen as tainted by more than the darkspawn taint.

Agreed - my Warden ponders this when Alistair tells her about the thirty year lifespan thing. She already knew that her life would be shorter than if she had been with the clans because of the contact with humans, but thirty years is much shorter than even she thought. She knew she'd have to face accelerated quickening, just not the added shortening of the taint.

I know it's a fictional world with its own rules, but that's genetically nonsensical. Even if the elven genes are recessive to the point that half-breeds are always phenotypically human, the recessive genes should at least start reappearing in a child with more elf than human blood.

lol If it's a dominant epigenetic effect or is related to paternal/maternal effects....I could see it happening.

The human "dominance" over elven blood is from more than just the genetic material, though. As I said upthread, it begins to assert itself simply by casual but close contact. Being human is contagious, apparently.AnniLau wrote...
