Someone should do a Morrigan one, but instead of her being there to hold the Warden (because, duh, she's not there) it should show her somewhere else, reacting to the feelings she would experience through the ring she gave the Warden.

I recall there being a variation if you left him behind "for a chance to be at your side, I would ..." I've been thinking about this on and off and I think maybe the song would tie up the Zev/warden thing nicely because it's an elven song and it could just be voiceover style because I don't see Zevran having the words to voice his grief at that moment.

Translation of the elven song:

heart has become grey and slow
we sing, rejoice
we tell the tales
we laugh and cry

Anyway, just me thinking out loud. There's probably a better line in the toolset. =p

She dumps him regardless when she leaves. But just because she didn't get her demon baby wouldn't mean that she wasn't upset that he died.

Do you lose the ring if she breaks up with you? She would be angry that he refused the Ritual, but I would think she would be at least a little sad if he died, because she's in love with him. But heck, if her ending is glitched anyway it might be hard to do that kind of cutscene.

tmp7704, if you ever do do a Zevran variant, I think would would be amazing, though you'd have to snip some dialog, are these lines together.

"I'm prepared to see this through to the end with you. Someone, after all, must take responsibility for preventing your untimely death." And then add, "Fare you well, my love." The last line would have to be snipped as it actually is, "Fare you well, my love, and good luck." But that would seriously make me cry.

I may have the lines slightly off, but I'm too lazy to look in my toolset right now.

Edit: Really, even just "fare you well, my love," would have me crying for hours *grin*  But it IS beautiful, the Alistair sacrifice!  

Second edit: The problem with that variant of the dark city speech is he's too happy, and it's for a friend, so not said in a loving tone.  The "Fare you well, my love, and good luck," is actually a breakup line, but he's so sweet and sad there.

I do think that it would have been a better plan to have all three of you rendezvous at the top of Fort Drakon and hope that that drew the archdemon to you.  But maybe he encountered enough opposition on his way up there that he thought you might not make it.

Really, the Warden has no one to blame but herself for refusing the DR.  Not to rain on the  party, but it's true.

Unless you're not a guy and fail to persuade Alistair/Loghain. Then it's their fault.

Spot on with the latter   in the version with the Warden dying Alistair does says this line. If it's him that's dead though then it's actually voiceover/memory and her lips don't sync with words on purpose -- what she actually says it's up for interpretation.

edit: i was thinking of the other LI's but ultimately figured this is more of a warden-only thing. Maybe it's possible to pick a line for others which would work in similar way but this one is bit exclusive, i think...

Edit:  I understand about the other LIs.  And yeah, the line is great for the Wardens.  There must me a line somewhere for the other companions.  *looks around at the members*  Shall we begin a search of lines?

maybe something from Leliana about the Stars conversation about the girl with the lover who dies and is stuck in the tower, her tears becoming the stars...Thats the only one I know where she told a tragic love story.

For Morrigan...well she won't be there anyway but maybe you could show an over image of her?  Saying "you fool" LOL 

For Zevran, maybe that line about storming the dark city by the PC's side?  (What is the in love line at the gate?)

True, but he is such a squish when it comes to this, especially if you're his friend or lover.  So much so that I forget he even will refuse it on occasion.
