It comes out in February, doesn't it? I would think they would have sent out contracts for VA's by now if they were going to have him back. Not that I have a clue how this works.Sandtigress wrote...

Eh, I think t's too early to tell. A bunch of us seem to have responded to that tweet to both SV and @dragonage , so it's not like they don't know we're interested (as if they could not know with this thread as huge as it is).
At least we know SV liked being Alistair and is willing to do it again! That's one point for us!

Something comes out in February - we don't really know what it is except that it's DragonAge related. I guess maybe we'll know more in a few weeks, when E3 comes around.

Really, I think SV is in charge of his own twitter account. He goes on these rants that are kind of funny to read, especially when twitter starts publishing them out of order and them make no sense and then he starts "argh twitter's doing things out of order and now I sound crazier than usual!"ing.
I think so too... I had him added on mine for about a day when he went on some rant that filled up my whole feed. It was amusing but I don't really like having people I don't know on my twitter, even if I'm only reading theirs.

OMG Steve Valentine approved my Twitter request to follow his page. Of course I'm sure he did so personally, his own self, saying aloud in Alistair voice as he did so, "Alistair approves +10"... I might have to learn Twitter after all. Damn.
Yeah, same here. It would be lols if it were personal, but it's probably some assistant who checks your profile to make sure you're not crazy.
I HIGHLY doubt it isn't personal. He tweets from his phone every time he can I have noticed. He is definitely
"in touch" constantly with his buds on the net. And when he is on his own, (like in new zealand) he takes picks of himself, and always updates stuff. I don't think he has an assistant that does anything like that for him. He also mentions that he reads all his letters in his myspace page.
hmmm have I given away the fact that I am following him??? NAHHH
I only do it once in a while. HONEST! :innocent:

I kinda figured we probably weren't going to see Alistair again because they'd also have to devote resources to Zevran and Leliana, which is not as feasible since it's so easy for them to die in origins. I figured they were going to want to move the story forward. It's one thing to see the writing on the wall, but it sucks to have your gut confirm it when you see twitter posts like that from Valentine.LadyDamodred wrote...

Yeah, I saw that. I would assume that to mean that DA2 will not involve our Wardens and this particular world scene. The other possibility is they haven't done ADR yet, but I would think they would have locked him into a contract by now if they were planning on having him do it.

As long as our Wardens don't mysteriously disappear never to be seen again (Why, Revan, why?!?!) then I'll be okay with it. Unfortunately, since all the Awakening endings are 'and then they randomly disappeared just like Revan' I'm not too hopeful.Gilsa wrote...

Plus which, it's possible they signed contracts for more than one game when they first took the jobs - isn't that how it usually goes? So the contractual part might not be a problem at all. And VO acting doesn't take long, not like actual footage acting - I have a friend who does it and she gets locked in a booth for a couple of days at a time to do it - they don't have to set up sets, or have costumes, or even have any of the other actors there. Much, much easier than film.

Just to add my 2 cents..I happen to believe DA 2 might have a completely new story as word has it, (maybe something parallel possibly...just an assumption) ..but I have this little feeling that DA2 will set the stage for DA 3 to bring our guys back. Just a feeling.

Not that I don't feel disappointed, but it's really disappointment at how the franchise is being handled and the fanbase being treated, not over Alistair or my Warden or anything.

Logically I think they would do voice acting as late as is possible for these things - considering the number of bugs that occur even in technically completed games - they would have to have an almost completed game before they did the voice overs.

Maybe this time they're even being more studious about lines firing correctly bfore adding voices too.

I agree the ADR would be done late, but I think they would secure contracts much earlier. But I really don't know. :x It could be that they're content to wait on such things. But you don't wanna risk your actor being tied up in another project.

BTW
Voice acting is usually one of the last stages of development (when animation is not based on the actors)
but regarding time consumpton...it is quite an ordeal especially when you think about DA's -lets tackle every possibility multiple storyline thing- . Although not as long as film...it is quite a time consumer.

Like I've said, if it is a completely new story, I would be content with a couple of sentences saying what happened to the Hero/Savior of Ferelden. Maybe a Codex entry.

A good approach. But it doesn't hurt to let Bioware know what we want. Most of all, I would just like to see loose ends tied up, even if it means our Wardens never reappear and they fix some hideous canon that has Alistair marrying Anyukidama wrote...

As for Alistair marrying Anora, it makes it convenient because the Warden doesn't have to be involved. It just irritates me so much that you get to make and choose your character but in the long run they're the most irrelevant part of the whole story and their choices don't really mean anything in a continuation. Why not just give us a Shepard type character, then?

Me too, but I really love the hand/arm movements they use when they cast. I was just screwing around and saw I could equip a bow...so I did...then I tried using it...and it worked!
