I thought that was obvious, otherwise this thread would not have existed.

And it's not that I am saying he is a bad character. He is not. He isn't the most interesting to me at all (fairly average compared to the others) but I could picture him being a good friend (until he acts stupid). But I am fairly certain I would not romance him had I been a girl. Neither would I Zevran BTW.

But I did not think there was anythign special about him and I admit his interest level, I suspect, would rise if romanced. But when there is no romance? I did not find him as interesting as the others. That doesn't make him uninteresting, just not as interesting as the others.

What draws you to the Alistair thread? If you don't think he is interesting, why would you be in a thread dedicated to him?

I suspect the interesting thing is also very much personal taste (duh).  For me, the two most interesting characters are Alistair and Zevran.  Leliana I couldn't care less about, and Sten is all right.  I think my issue with Sten is that it's so easy to miss most of what makes his character interesting.  *shrugs*

I am very tired, and so am stating the obvious, I know.

I did enjoy Kaidan as a character very much though. He is more than the eye catch first, just like Alistair.

Good question. I don't really know. Maybe raging fangirls interest me? Or maybe it's just you, I don't know. (Probably because I dared myself to go in as The Loghain fan and see what happens )

But I have to admit, this thread changed my opinion on Alistair. Before, I mostly disliked him. Now, I got to see his better side, or the other full half of his glass so to speak. Still doesn't change my Canon playthrough, nor does it generate any regret. But I got to know him a bit better.

And I am here talking about the first few pages of this thread. After that, it went crazyyyy and it's too much fun to miss

Forget "model man"... what is that, anyway?

Alistair has many qualities which would be appealing in either sex.  Kindness, gentleness, loyalty, sense of humor, humility, respect for the other sex (a gentleman).  When you say you don't want to be like him "at all," KoP, then I just have to <_<.

Of course, I married a man like this, which is probably one reason I find Alistair so appealing.
