I don't know about that.  In my CEF game, where I married a hardened Alistair to her, he bluntly declared that she'd be having his baby.   The only question remaining is if he can fill big brother's shoes.

Well like I said, he'll do his duty if the ice queen lets him.  Poor slob.

Anora has some Bella in her... and some Isabela too... he's in good hands ;)

Alistair bedding someone much less likely to screech at him and/or poison his cheese stash

With that, I am off to bed.  Wasting brain cells on a gaming forum, my God, what am I coming to.

And if anyone says my HNF up above kinda looks like Anora or some such nonsense, I leave you with this other image from her game.

I wonder why everybody has to compare them in order to judge how they act.  If it's about Loghain, Alastair is brought up as an example and vice versa.

Probably because you are basically choosing between them once Alistair tells you it's him or Loghain. Of course, sometimes it feels like people don't believe in a middle ground. I like Alistair as a character - though he often ends up losing his virginity to Anora - but I cannot forgive the Anora solo ruler Loghain spared action of leaving. In most of my playthroughs it's not really relevant because him not fighting as King so he'll be more likely to survive and get coronated does have merit.

I just dislike people thinking that one of them has to be right and the other wrong. If someone comes with an argument that [Alastair makes a bad decision when leaving] it usually gets the stock response [but Loghain/Anora is worse]. It's like many asserting that Bhelen is the awesomest thing in dwarven society since smokeless coal mostly due to Harrowmont being terrible in comparison.

Sure, Loghain being bad has a part in Alastair wanting to leave, but the discussion usually ends up with people flinging the same old arguments at each other from either side of the trenches. Simply put Alastair bad, no Loghain bad, no Alastair bad. *le sigh*

You articulated how I feel perfectly here. I'm no Loghain fan, but I would spare him if Alistair didn't run away because of it. They're both interesting and deep characters, and they've both made bad decisions. Shockingly bad ones. Having read The Stolen Throne and The Calling I still have more sympathy for Alistair than Loghain though - but the poor bastard's had a tough life and you can see why he does what he does.

This is not about Alistair. Whether Loghain lives or dies is about Loghain's worth, crimes, and value. The fact that Alistair tries to make it about him when he makes you choose between them...no. He may not like Loghain but he cannot factor into my decision.

Alistair is just such a controversial figure.  No other character seems to spark so much debate.

Expo?

There's an E3 expo during June 15 to June 17 where big game announcements tend to come out. Gamers are hoping that Bioware will be revealing news about DA expansions then, maybe find out what they have planned for February 2011 (since that pamplet was included in all Awakening copies). There's a thread out with theories on this.

Alistair manages to force his way into those debates too eventually.  He's unstoppable!

Vice versa happens as well.
It's almost like they are the Yin and Yang of DA.

Listen, I love rogues and play them often, but this is just silly.  A mage's AoE will always win out in the end.

If Combat Tweaks nerfs your mages, then why have it?

To try it out, and because it makes many things better, too.
Alone the fact that Shapechanging is finally useful makes it worthwhile to use. I just don´t use damagespells anymore from level 9 or 10 onwards. Instead, I use bear-form most of the time.
Bear is a better tank AND a better dps than everyone else in my team. I mean, 600 hp, 140 defense, attacks never miss, 130 - 150 damage per hit, immunity to grab, overwhelm etc and an overwhelm attack that is practically instakill against elite and removes about 60 - 70% of bosses´s health?! What more can you want......

I just can't believe people actually think Leliana is better than Morrigan. Morrigan is bad a**.

The opinion of people is highly overrated and very irrelevent. Especially when it contradicts mine. Posted Image

Leliana has nothing on Morrigan. Nothing at all. Morrigan beats her in all aspects of life.

And Morrigan dumps you. Leliana stays with you and makes you happy every night (and day). Definitely a point for Leli:P:P:P

Drive by lesbianosity, because I know you all love Leliana so much and this is getting awkward.

I don't know what's awkward, but there's no call for Leliana.

There is always need for Leliana. Except if there is Liara, because she beats Leliana hands-down and blindfolded:wub:

In ME2: SHADOW BROKER!SHADOW BROKER!SHADOW BROKER!SHADOW BROKER!

I am equally outraged over there not being a male hitting on my male Shepard. And all those icky women, yeesh.

I just love if you so much if you critize one aspect of a Charachter on these forums, their fans come riding in screaming about how I am an idiot and must be blind to the glory that is there chosen one. And then they get even more outraged when I say that my favourite Bioware Charachters are The Black Whirlwind and Jolee Bindo.

I actually have a problem with all the LI in ME, I was just being polite and they all assume I want to bone them? The only way to avoid it is either to nuke them, or be an arse wipe to them. Which is why I like DA because you can easily avoid romances, and because it was obvious in Jade Empire. You may now continue your nerd rages upon me if you like, I will just go and play Serious Sam.
