Also, is 'hostile Alistair' something I should go for in later PTs? I'm planning on blood-maging it on the next one, and basically killing everything. Does Alistair being mad at you get good?

Anybody find it slightly disconerting when romancing him as an elf, that if you ask him if he wants to do it "even though I'm not human like you?" his response is to laugh and say "espeically because of that"? It's not a cute line, Alistair. In fact, it's a tad creepy. (I know this has come up before, probably, but it really threw me. Kind of made my Dalish have second thoughts. Lucky for her she hadn't had to endure the city elf origin story. lol). You think it was an attempt at being reassuring that failed, or does he have a creepy elf fetish?
I'm someone who finds it almost gamebreakingly disconcerting (as it is I can't romance him with a CEF and probably never with a DEF of EMF). It's supposed to be reassuring and maybe a bit tone deaf (like he's such a good guy it never occurred to him why the elf thing might be an issue, from any direction) but the first time I played it came across to me as him having the same creepy elf thing that appears throughout the game (and the books).

Hostile Alistair is sexy. But I don't know if I'd enjoy a whole playthrough playing an arse-head.janeym27 wrote...

Fresh from the Zevran thread: The Alicorn and the dread Princess Cousland.

Apologies, Nonvita, for borrowing Princess for this artwork, but Disney Princess Princess is inspiring
"Princess is delighted to chance upon the rare, mythical creature known as the Alicorn during her musical medley in the Magical Forests of Highever. She yearns to touch the beautiful sparkly beast, but little did she realize the danger in the form of its rider: A small yet utterly fierce monster princess ready to defend her claim on the wondrous steed with wanton violence."
Haha, I suck at writing flowery prose XD

I could so understand him having an elf fetish and I don´t find it creepy. Every human with good taste has an elf fetish, because elves are just superior.janeym27 wrote...

No. I found it boring. At best I wouldn´t try to get him to 100+ no matter what, but insulting him just to get his approval down is pointless imo. Also, is 'hostile Alistair' something I should go for in later PTs? It was meant definitely reassuring, however it is paired with an unfortunate sentence and bad delivery of the line. What he basically tries/meant to say is that he doesn't mind you being an elf and loves you for who you are...not WHAT you are. Too bad this whole thing is a fail. I wish they would have delivered it better/wrote it in another way. It would have been very sweet.
My city elf avoided this line by jumping into his pants first, so she will be rewarded with a sexy whispered "Of course not" when she is asking him 'if it her being an elf does change a thing' at his confrontation <3 She is already head over heels for him, so I see her melting at the very spot when that happens
Ali: Of course not.
Aeris: *swoooooon*
Ali: *blinks* Are you alright?
Aeris: Y-y-yes. ...Alistair?
Ali: Yes, my love?
Aeris: You and me. Tent. Now.
Good times.
While not an elf fetish, it find it quite noticable how he and likewise my elves react to him/ he to her. They are drawn to each other, like moths to the light. Poor Zevran never has a chance with any of my elves, lol.
Must be the Theirin genes, I suppose. Alistair is an elf-magnet and there are surely worse fates than that

That he does. And I think it's not bad for a DW warrior. I have yet to test if I can do the Final Onslaught without a proper tank and a healer on nightmare. The modded armors and weapons a clearly overpowered, so maybe it will work.Sandtigress wrote...

By creepy, ity's ot so much the fact he is attracted to elves which is disconcerting, more the way he says it as if her being an elf is why he wants to jump her bones. lol

I also take it to mean that he's not impressed with his own race to begin with. Hasn't exactly been treated well by other humans.sylvanaerie wrote...
i never took the elf thing as being creepy. I always took it to mean "you have issues between races? but I think you are PERFECT just as you are". I think Alistair and elf (any elf) is sweet beyond words and has the best kiss. I like how he puts his arm around her waist and lifts her into the kiss.

Heh, I got your meaning
Well to get this dialog you must ask him to your tent and bed him before he would ask you. Then when his approval is high enough he will confont you like when he's asking to spend the night but the dialogue differs quite a bit. (Won't spoil it for you when you didn't have had it before) and after his squeeworth dialogue you get the option to say the elf thing and he shrugs it off with an "of course not" in a very sexy way. Maker, I love SV delivery here *swoon* <3 (Is it just me?)
Personally I favor it now to ask him first for sexy time because you get somehow more...like his 'No one has ever made me feel this way- sentence and other sweet things.
@Addai: I find that a very interesting and fitting observation. He surely not thinks of humans being superior...why should he concerning how most have threat him?

@Merilsell, I actually don't like the line "of course not" in that dialogue, but it's probably the context in which I first heard it. My elf mage Sula was trying to break up with him during that discussion, so it sounded dismissive. She had just found out about his identity late in the game (he wasn't in the party traveling to Redcliffe) and heard that Eamon was going to try to make him king, so the fact that she was an elf and a mage was *very* significant. When he just brushes it off like that, I was wishing for a dialogue option to tell him he was being naive.
Well, being a mage isn't a big issue at least for a warden, since you're free of the circle permanently. Plus, if you try to zap him he can stop ya. Man that would suck...imagine.
PC: Alistair I swear to the MAKER if you leave the seat up on more time (prepares fireball)
Alistair : *holy smite*
PC: <_<
