... I guess i'm missing the point by a mile here, but how is just having a player's character sleep with everything that moves a spoof of Zevran romance?

There are a lot of people who bash the romance on the grounds that it's cheap and shallow and based on nothing but meaningless sex (which it is not, but that's a different topic).  Really, though, I was just trying to say that I honestly don't think that anyone in the ZevThread would mind a princess equivalent and invited people to make a parody based on one of my HNFs.

In a way it was a peace offering, since there is no nastiness implied nor is any insult directed at an individual.  Apparently the whole Princess parody has a few people upset -- this was in response to a few people wondering if the Zevran fans would be upset over a Zevran equivalent.  I know I wouldn't be unless it was hateful (we do get our share of people who gay bash there, though we haven't seen it for awhile) -- and the princess story most definitely is not that.  That poking fun of the characters is not the same as poking fun of a person.  And princess IS funny.

But it also may have been inappropriate for me to make light of it!  I was meaning no offense either!

heh my only issue with the princess is that she's using my HNF's hair!  Though my HNF with that hair spared Loghain, let Alistair exile himself...and made Loghain do the DR. She's rather like the wicked stepmother in snow white I think. The Anti-princess...lol

No, sorry.  There are hot babes, but not mages.  Magic does not have the same role in SoIaF as in DAO- it's "declined" during book time, and those mages you do encounter seem to be pretty much evil.

It does have a redhead femme fatale, but not until end of book 2.  So she would not make an appearance until the 2nd season, I guess.

Yea, the Alicorn thing isn't really spoofing Al, or Lady Cousland ... its spoofing the players.  So the analogy would be something like saying that the Zevranites are all dwarf playing goth chicks who hate cheerleaders and frat boys

Winter Is Coming!

I'm about 1/4th the way through the huge book 3.  It never stops being good.

Edit:  Oh, and adorable Jon  is one of my favorite characters from the series.  He's like Alistair in some ways, though not as laid-back.  I wonder if he was inspiration for the character, though.

Ahh; i thought a spoof would be something that's trying to poke fun at the 'canon' way the romance is supposed to work (same way the CousCous thing is mocking the onetrulub HNFs thing) so was expecting dunno, Zevran and whatever the 'one true pairing' for Zevran is supposed to be spend their time trading back and forth an earring turning into ring and back or something. Or the player genuinely unwittingly walking into his massage offer, or much chargrin out of Zevran reaching his "no nookie because i'm in love and that'd be cheap" phase ... something along these lines.

My first name is Jennifer. It was so common that I had to be called by my last name on sports teams and my high school best friend/bridesmaid was named Jennifer. My husband's brother later married a woman named Jennifer so not only do we share the same first name, we also share the same last name. What can I say? I am just so awesome that everyone wants to be me!

Edit: If I really wanted to stretch it and claim nobility for my name, Jennifer is supposed to be a variant of Guinevere.

I for myself find Princess hilarious. Then again, I've read many DA:O FF's and now where this is directed at ...AND aren't the biggest HNF fan either.

Yeah I don't like anime, either, hence my frowny face about DA being filmed that way vs. the spaceship game getting real actors.

I think it's better off as cartoon really, if just because this way they can easily get much more grand with settings, storyline and effects. I don't think either of these productions is going to get blockbuster-size budget, so i'd much rather see some good drawings than few guys in rubber suits pretending to be darkspawn charge...

edit: ToP, the boys are competing about size of their furry shoulder pads. And Sten acting suspiciously man-like...
