I don't see Princess as character bashing but rather player spoofing, which makes it the teeniest bit more pointed, IMO. Whatever, it produces funny stuff so I really can't complain about it.
*wades in to probably end up annoying people more* Princess was originally a reaction to some silly stuff I saw on the forums, but she's not aimed at anyone in particular. I enjoy her, as do many other people (if it weren't for other people I wouldn't have done more than make her in the CC), and she's just for fun. I think we're all capable of laughing at some of the silly stereotypes that come up in the game, and I'm glad you enjoy some of what comes of it. Besides, technically I've completed more Alistair romances than Zevran romances (er, I've never actually completed the Zev romance in-game) so anyone saying this is an attack on Alistair by a Zev fangirl/Ali hater clearly doesn't know who they're talking about! And please, by all means, make a stereotypical Zevran romance girl/guy. We love love good jokes around the Zev thread.
But it will have to be better than Disney Princess Princess! (a work in progress)
Hey, what are the Cousland stereotypes? I don't read fanfiction and I'm curious:D

I think this is a good point. We are not passive femmes waiting to be courted, it's more a question of "What can we do with Alistair", ie him being a blank canvass upon which we can project our fantasies, which tend to untame, rather than "What can Alistair do for us?"

My point was to illustrate the stupidity of pulling a stereo-type out of your butt. I don't read FF, so I can't comment on any of that - only to say, if you don't like the princess ones, don't read them. But really, no one in this thread cares who is romancing Zev,most of us probably really like him. We're just appreciating our guy (or making him into Moobistair). Al has probably gotten more ridicule in this thread than Zev and his fans combined - I don't see the need for the other thread to worry about us over here so much ( and yes, I saw the general jabs at this thread - not just the FF people).

Thanks to FF,I can't romance him with my f!Cousland. The pairing has been completely ruined by the mary-sue cliché so the very idea of romancing Ali with Elora makes me want to vomit. And no,that's not a personal attack at those who romance him with Couslands,I just can't do it.klarabella wrote...
There, I admitted it, I'm guilty of playing Cousland. But I love to see Alistair paired up with every Origin.

People have their favorite origins and romances, which is fine. For me, my favorite origin is the Cousland origin. And it is my favorite for a very precise reason: It is the only origin that allows me to play a human warrior. That has been, and will always be, my favorite rpg character. In every rpg I have ever done, it is always my first/canon character. I might have even preferred a common origin to the noble. I don't know because it was never an option for me.
I think what makes people testy is that often times the poking fun does descend into attacking the players and not stereotypes, even if that's not the way it is meant. *shrugs* I am perfectly content to accept any and all pairings. It doesn't affect me or my favorites. It just seems like some people get all mad when someone says "I don't like this pairing/I don't want to play this pairing." Lord knows I've been harassed about that. :/
Even in this thread, all the 'elf/alistair is perfect because of the snuggle' tends to wear on me a little bit. *grins at all her friends* But I don't take it personally or mind too much because I know are just playing what they enjoy. I simply let it pass without comment because there is no need for a comment.
And my name means "Stong/Brave/Fierce One".

If you're offended by the image of the Alicorn, remember what else his artist has made and realize it's not a personal jab.

This. I love playing Human warriors. Cousland is one of my canon games, with my other one being elven mage. Though once I finish my City Elf rogue, she will be my third canon.
