Sorry all this talk about loving intimate scenes, especially the Alistair watching pc sleep scene I can't help but post this pic.

Not mine:

This one is on my desktop

It's on mine too lol.  I love it, wish we could get that exact look in the game lol.

Oh man, Alistair as a reaver. :x Poor Alistair. I always make Oghren a Berseker/Reaver. Makes sense to me. Alistair is a Templar/Champion and I end up as a Champion/Berserker.

My HNF was Reaver/Champion. I basically only use Devour and Frightening Appearance (so satisfying to use against Loghain), but I love it. Alistair is always Templar/Champion. Not even I can mess with the Templar, and Cleanse Area and Holy Smite are a) useful and B) awesome.

Same for me, it was grueling. I just used Morrigan - Cone of Cold - Loghain was finished in just seconds.

I always use Alistair so Riordan doesn't swoop in and go on about making Loghain a Warden.  Plus watching him cover Anora in her father's blood is strangely satisfying.

I only let him do this when I plan to make him king...which doesn't happen often anyway. Otherwise it's a happy disassembling day for my PC

I always make him King.  I can't stand Anora.  She's such a ruthless skank when the PC doesn't support her in the Landsmeet.  I love how Alistair is like "shocking, she betrayed us."

Yeah, the Champion/Berserker thing has a nice RP aspect for my HNF.  She was really, really, really angry about what happened to her family and Highever.  So she spends a lot of time dealing and struggling with that anger.  And then she meets Oghren and it's like *click*.  She finally finds something to channel her anger into.  I think I've written Oghren's/Alistair's respective thoughts on it as "She's a natural/She's terrifying".  XD

*Pointless OT rambling*

Gah, I have only met Leliana in my ficlet and it's already over 4000 words again. Seems like I have to stretch the Lothering arc over 3 parts instead two. -__-

Oh well. *continues writing*

Hm. I wonder why the Redeemer achievement says you "allowed" Loghain to kill the Archdemon while the Warden-Commander one says you "commanded" Alistair to. I may have allowed Loghain to, but I most definitely did not command Alistair to sacrifice himself ;~;

PC: Alistair go kill the Arcdemon.
Ali: But...
PC: Now!
Ali: :crying:
PC: I'm immune to your charms, now do as I command.

Actually thats the ONLY thing about his execution I DO feel bad about. She is willing to throw her father under a bus to keep her throne but she never wanted him dead (even if that is the most logical outcome of being found guilty of treason.  Loghain has no problems ordering PC, Al and Eamon out to be Queen of Hearts'd all over the courtyard grounds.
I wish there were an option to remove her from the room before killing him.  It just seems wrong to execute a man in front of his child who obviously loves him and who he loves also.

Doesn't save his life.  Dude is worm food every run through for me but I still feel bad about how it is done.Posted Image

Heh, my HNF found a Book She Probably Shouldn't Have in Pappy Cousland's arcane corner of the castle study and was completely fascinated.

But mostly I just associated Reavers with badass horned helms and decided that my first warrior must be a Reaver in a badass horned helm.

I think it's deliberately done by BW so that you have a strong and lasting image of your decision by killing Loghain.

And it is cruel but powerful picture indeed.

I usually have Al duel him so its taken out of my PC's hands anyway. Technically I KNOW he is going to kill him but I can RP that my PC was like...ummm we never decided on off with his head...maybe we should have discussed this in more detail earlier...

I suppose it is kind of cruel considering she lost her husband at Ostagar. I think she did honestly care for Cailan. I actually kind of liked Anora in my very first play through as Dalish elf putting her on the throne until she was like like lol! execute Alistair.

When I first started playing DA, the board I read the most was far less charitable about that scene- most thought it was for the LOLS. I haven't been able to shake that perception, so it doesn't really bother me that much.

Lmao I do this too and think the same thing.  It's the only way I can do it and not feel guilty, Alistair just took the decision out of my hands lol.

Psssh, Alistair and I discussed it.  ;)  There was no way Loghain was leaving that room alive.  ^_^

From an RP standpoint it works for me. Alistair is having to prove that he CAN lead and can protect Ferelden better than its best General (How he got that title when i think the man is a complete boob in the general dept is beyond me) but there it is. Plus if I am on a mage it just feels wrong me me to root/rot/nuke his ass to oblivion right in front of all the nobles KNOWING how they feel about magic.

Course they will think twice if Alistair has his own personal lil finger wiggler protecting him.

From the HN standpoint my girl's a "Daddy's Girl" and grew up hearing stories of Loghain's heroics vs Orlais. She kind of hero worships Loghain at first like she does Bryce then it all hits the fan and she's out for blood in the worst way.

Yup, same here.  She was pretty convinced something had just gone horribly wrong at Ostagar because there is no way the Hero of River Dane would do that.  And then she finds out he blamed the Wardens and is trying to have her killed.  She's all done right about then.
