I've actually been talking mostly about the misconceptions of Alpha/Beta/Omega, and using Alistair as an example. Not arguing about Alistair.

Such an argument would be more convincing where you to provide your own definitions of your terms, rather than simply saying the previously posted ones are wrong.

Don't mind my tone, in the middle of trying to write my thesis with a major headache.  But yeah, define your terms and all that, one of the first rules of debate!

And how exactly does an alpha take initiative compared to a beta compared to an omega, and how does one develop an authoritative presence if one does not have one to begin with, especially in the animal kingdom where these terms are usually derived from?

The fact that Alistair provokes so much love/hate reactions and so many debates is proof of the excellent job Gaider did writing him, and Valentine did voicing him.



The only other two characters that garner the same amount of discussion/debate, even arguements, are Morrigan and Loghain.



Better be to mocked, dissed, and have several threads dedicated to how "whiny" you are, as oppose to not generating much discussion at all.

Though I think Loghain is the one that generated the most devisiveness. Which makes him a brilliant character.
