So I was looking through the toolset at Loghain's first dialogue when you seek him out at Ostagar and if you're a HN then the VO notes for his line 'The king told me of his promise. I am certain he has every intention of following it through' was 'what is unsaid: "...should he get the chance, which he won't." ' But if he weren't planning on Cailan dying then how does that make sense? Is he planning on calling a Landsmeet or whatever to depose Cailan the minute Ostagar is done with and before Cailan has a chance to deal with Howe? And I think this points to Loghain being allied with Howe before then because why else wouldn't he want Howe punished for his actions?

And Cailan's VO notes when he talks to you after you first meet him makes me think he was a decent politician which is good since he was certainly lacking in other kingly areas.

Loghain's VA does a good job there, because he certainly does convey doubtfulness and caginess with that comment.  My HNF is definitely underwhelmed at the "concern" of the only other teyrn in the country to the fate of her family.  Kind of a disappointment from her first meeting with the Hero of River Dane, an event sort of like meeting Elvis.  At the time she probably would chalk it up to preoccupation with the battle preparations, but it adds to her conviction later that Loghain was in on it all.

I think Cailan was a decent king all around, he just made a military miscalculation in Ostagar and trusted Loghain too much.  How could he have foreseen treachery like that?  Anora should have seen it, if anyone, since she was closest to both.  But I don't think she really knew her father well and had idol stars for him, too.

I ALWAYS hated her.  DSC just brought out jealousy in other people, which is fine by me, as it adds more numbers to my "Set Leliana on Fire" cause.
