Lol, I don't read or write fic and I guess I should be glad because the only character I'd be interested in writing about has Mary Sue appearance written all over her ;_; I just like to make 'em visually interesting so I don't get bored!! *runs off crying into the night*

But we love yukilolielf!

Ahahaha, thanks ^_^ Even if she has a Mary Sue appearance (after she's been living in a cave for about a half a millennia and has gone albino xD) I enjoy playing her. I guess I've grown accustomed to it :P

As far as description... I am so bad I just throw a picture at anyone curious. This is why I am not a writer, haha.

Thanks to you guys, I can no longer read a FF that mentions the PC's eyes in the first page.  Even if it is something as inncoent as describing the color. Posted Image

I just ran to check. I think I waited until the 4th chapter./is bad at describing how people look.

I didn't use to really bother with describing people but then everyone was like 'oh, nice story but I have no idea what the main character looks like' so now I just add a sentence or two saying 'Eye color: this. Hair color: this.' Posted Image

Wait, why?

The whole Mary Sue thing.  You guys were talking about it many many many pages back, someone linked the TVTropes aritcle about Mary Sues.  You know, the whole "eyes the deepest green that look like emeralds shat out by magical leprechauns"

I don't care about the eye color, my nobles both have green eyes. ^_^ I'm a Mary Sue detector. A lot of fics lose my attention because they indulge too much in the awesomeness of the main character.

Yeah, I've seen some of your reviews and they kind of scare me... Posted Image

You should market this skill.

:bandit: No, I'm too afraid of the authors. *whispers* I'm glad they don't know I can sense Mary Sues. Don't tell them!

I'd like that sense, because I accidently make Mary Sues sometimes. Sometimes I just want my characters to be a little too awesome:P

I'm such a novice that I have no idea what the parameters for these things are, so I always flail a bit when someone mentions things like this. I mean, not that it really matters. I was mostly curious at what point I slipped that detail in there.

If you could please focus on the little yellow star at the tip of the wand. :wizard: *flash*

Hey, we haven't met. My name is klarabella and I'm actually really nice! :innocent:

Edit: I hope no one is taking me serious. I've been reading fanfiction for like ... what? ... 6 months? I know next to nothing about writing.
Edit 2: I'm a thread killer with all my rambling about fanfiction. I hope Alistair's smirk makes it all better.

I also remember that you say you only review stories you really like and since your reviews are very in-depth then it makes you wonder just what you'd write if you bothered reviewing storiese that didn't amaze you...

I don't know. Am I? If this is some kind of naughty slang expression...
I meant neuralize, MIB flashy style. The appropriate German term would be blitzdings. See! :wizard: *blitzdings*

Hehe, yes: Slang To expose oneself in an indecent manner.

Like those creepy guys in trenchcoats who suddenly opens up their coat in front of random strangers to reveal their nudity

So am I.  And yet people keep writing "You are so great at description!" in their reviews.  I don't understand it...I'm still pretty sure I suck at describing things.  *shrugs*

*high five, Sandti*

Ugh. I hate writing descriptions...and I love to hate it. I always have to remind myself that people need a clear picture of the scene I have already settled in my head...but to translate to e-paper? Ugh. I'm fairly practical with my descriptions however and try to keep them only as short as needed. I don't see the sense of overly prose either. For example a leather armor is dark or light and tightly tailored, period. No need for me to describe its every detail, it's only there to protect the person not to look good for a date. >.>

Well yes, I'm guilty of giving Lenya green eyes. But they are green, maybe even dark-green ...but not and never emerald colored like the flowing green grass beneath her feet.  If I would write something like that, Lenya would puke and come out of the FF to slap me.

I kid you not.

Posted Image it. My big problem with the hairstyles offered is that if I'm going to play a noble (a third of the offered origins) then they are going to need a noble hairstyle and I don't care that nobles in the game will wear all manner of styles, only Anora's and Isolde's actually strikes me as looking noble enough and I hate Isoldes's hairstyle but that last one looks like it might work. Gah! I had the folder of all the npc MRH's on my desktop. Which is where I saved a couple of my own. Including Caislyn. And...apparently I deleted it, and emptied the recycle bin. Shoot me now.

What are the general characteristics of a femme fatale character? I think I have one, but not really sure.

A femme fatale (pronounced /ˌfɛm fəˈtæl/ or /ˌfɛm fəˈtɑːl/; French: [fam faˈtal], with all [a]'s) is an alluring and seductive woman whose charms ensnare her lovers in bonds of irresistible desire, often leading them into compromising, dangerous, and deadly situations.  She is an archetype or stock character of literature and art. Her ability to entrance and hypnotize her male victim was in the earliest stories seen as being literally supernatural, hence the most prosaic femme fatale today is still described as having a power akin to an enchantress, vampire, female monster or demon.  The phrase is French for "deadly woman". A femme fatale tries to achieve her hidden purpose by using feminine wiles such as beauty, charm, and sexual allure. Typically, she is exceptionally well-endowed with these qualities. In some situations, she uses lying or coercion rather than charm. She may also be (or imply to be) a victim, caught in a situation from which she cannot escape; The Lady from Shanghai (a 1947 film noir) giving one such example.  Although typically villainous, femmes fatales have also appeared as antiheroines in some stories, and some even repent and become heroines by the end of the tale. In social life, the femme fatale tortures her lover in an asymmetrical relationship, denying confirmation of her affection. She usually drives him to the point of obsession and exhaustion so that he is incapable of making rational decisions.
