ABSOLUTELY. If it was the case then nothing in the world would ever get done.

I remember with my first mage playing through and I knew he was going to dump me... even though I hadn't read it anywhere or discovered the forums yet, because all the indications are there from the first. Didn't stop me from raging around the house for a couple of days after he did - took me three days to go back to the game and reload it so he didn't!

I didn't expect him to put me over his duty - people who do expect that are I think, in technical terms, called "high maintenance".

I didn't get dumped on my first unspoiled playthrough because my character could see how much he didn't want to be king, and thought that he wouldn't make a good king if he didn't want to be king in the first place. Thus, no dumping, and they ran off to Weisshaupt fortress to be good Wardens.

I lucked out on my first playthrough, since I happened to be a HNF. I didn't know to harden him at that point, and chose to be consort with him, both to be together and because I thought he needed help. After learning about hardening, I trust him to be a good king now!

Maybe not, but that's one of the reasons that was put forth in the other thread's arguments.

See, the reason I did get dumped was because I wanted him to be king because I knew it would be better for Ferelden...I was putting duty first too . But then of course I didn't do the DR (intending to do the final sacrifice) and he bloody stole my kill!



I've said it before, but all my moral decisions (my PC did what I would have done in her place) led to me being miserable!
