While I generally like elven ear length in DA, I really wish they'd stick out a bit from my girl's hair.  That would be WAY more natural.  Oh well.

I wish that you could even tell that a girl HAD elf ears if she had long hair.

Is that the normal skin tone for Dalish elves? They look like Elder Scrolls elves.

Not entirely sure but i think it is. The Forest has a hue to its lighting which skews the appearance a bits.

Exactly.  The only way you know my girl is elven is because she has Dalish tattoos.  Just the tips, that would make me so happy!

It bothers me so much I  can't even have long hair for elves because I might as well just be playing a shorter human if I can't see that it's an elf which is a shame as I really like some of the ear-covering styles.

Heh, I edited my elf specifically so that her ears poke out just a bit through her hair. I think it's cute. I also don't like the big giant Yoda ears >.>

I would add that Alistair doesn't have a very realistic view of his chances to become king, i.e. he doesn't realize how determined Eamon is and thinks it all very improbable.  Not surprising since it's been drummed into his head his whole life that he'll never be king.  Even right up to post-Landsmeet, he sounds stunned that they're actually doing it.

Call it a fine capacity for denial mixed with a path-of-least-resistance philosophy that many men operate with.

I was actually thinking this same thing.  He sounds really shocked when you suggest that he's the heir.  His entire fear seems summed around who his father is, rather than who he is as the potential heir to the throne.  So it really is all about his family tree rather than about any future on the throne - he's not afraid of that until Eamon makes his intention to put Alistair on the throne clear.

It's why my Dalish girl had no hesitation on that part of things - he said he wasn't going to be king so she believed him.  My HNF on the other hand was like "Yeah right...you're the heir!" - that completely put a damper on her attitude towards the romance happening because she had just stopped seeing herself as a title-bearing noble.  Too bad her heart told her another thing!

Prett much all my girls react similarly. "Oh, your Dad was Maric, but you want nothing to do with being king? Well ok, glad you told me, and shame on those people that treated you badly over it. Cake?"

Kasha is the only one that does a little /facepalm there. She's done her best to avoid noble's sons and finds out she's in love with THE noble's son of all sons.  But the most she does is look to the sky and say "Ok mother! you win!!!"

Past that, they all just figure (except Kasha of course who knows how this crap works) it's not something worth fussing over now, and they'll deal with it if and when it becomes an issue. They have their secrets too (Tamlen, Kinslaying, being a carta thug, killing a noble's son, being a Cousland) that may or may not have been shared yet.

I imagine that it would be annoying to have a hairstyle that covers your ears if they are pointy. Just to be slightly off-topic.

Thankfully I'm not as perfectionist on looks as some are, especially since I'm a console player and can't do redos through the toolset (although once I'm given the opportunity on my PC version when I get it, I won't guarantee I won't do it :innocent:) - if I'm far enough along I'll just go with it.  And I just close my eyes and RP around the hair thing and just tell myself that in "real life" you can see her ears and everyone knows she's an elf.  :P

I don't fuss over it one way or another- everyone in Ferelden seems to know she's an elf regardless- but those pictures do look like Yoda ears to me.  Maybe you're picturing them bigger.  I know that WoW elves have ridiculously, extravagantly big ears.

This is the extent of poking through her ears do:

It's not so that people will recognize her as an elf or anything because I think that is pretty evident regardless, but it is merely because I like the way it looks. I just think the big ears that stick out THAT far are unappealing.

Well how do these more politically naive characters handle the news that Alistair is going to be King after all (and it's not even optional until you 'rescue' Anora)? Do they blame him for misleading them? Do they think he is honestly as surprised as she is? Do they recognize how deeply he was in denial? Have they come to terms with the knowledge by then?

We all liked the one you had done.

The normal-size dwarven arms mod came out as did another batch of hair mods and the new Dalish one that's either on this page or the one before it.

I think that might be all the big things...did you have fun on your trip and have enough ff to read?

My mage was very much "I know you're going to be King" and she nearly dumped him for it, but decided since they would probably both die in the blight any way they may as well get as much happiness from the relationship as they could while they could. Tragic, sad and heartwrenching, but fun to role play.

It really doesn't matter to them that much, they have a bounty on their heads, treaties to fulfill, and an Arl to save. In the grand scheme of things Alistair being afraid to share his birthright isn't an issue. Even when the Arl is revived, you're not making Alistair king, you're putting him forward at the landsmeet to challenge Loghain for the throne. Even the politically naive can know that a challenge by no means is guarenteed success, and Arl Eamon makes it clear that's what is happening.

My Dalish is as shocked as he is - she trusts him enough to know she wasn't mislead purposefully, though she perhaps recognizes at this point that he was being naive about the matter.  Since she revives Eamon last it's kind of "Wham, time for Landsmeet, no time to think!" for her though.

I like the bigger ears, and even made a CEF with this in mind. And then you had to go and make a donkey ear comment and every time I looked at her I got the urge to bray so I ended up abandoning her. It's unfortunate, because she's otherwise lovely:
