Bulls that are used for showing at fairs and such are neutered, the neutered males are steer.

Most cattle raised for beef are also neutered. They're much more docile that way, and it allows you to control the genetic stock of your herd in an open range.Lady Jess wrote...

Lol, no. I get really insane when I don't sleep, and I had just taken a sleeping pill so I was extra loopy. I have no reason to be on the internets, as I need to be writing, but I had to come and do my part to revive the Ali thread, especially after my shenanigans last night.
And I can't believe I missed a cattle conversation! I live in rural Indiana, I am literally surrounded by cattle! I can see a adorably skippy little calf from my window right now.
