awww considering his fate if you let Loghain live and don't let Anora kill him/marry him (Frankly I almost think killing him would be kinder than hitching him to the harpy even if it is good for Ferelden) I don't think I could bear watching him drunk.

I think happy Alistair drunk is very different from betrayed broken Alistair drunk.  >.>  And yeah, killing him would be kinder, but the char can't do it.  Alistair would have preferred it, too.  ;_;

Just because I have to share this because it made me laugh so hard I almost wet myself. On another thread someone posted wanting Cullen DLC/Romance stuff. D Gaider's response just cracked me up. (Didn't he write Alistair too? so this is kind of on topic)

If I wrote a Cullen "romance" it'd have to be creepy as hell.

Cullen: I just want you to know... I love you.
PC: I love you, too.
Cullen: No, no... I REALLY love you!
PC: Er... and I love you, too.
Cullen: You don't understand! I think about you all the time, every waking moment! I look at you and I... I want to touch your skin! I want to brush your hair!
PC: I don't...
Cullen: Ever since I saw you in the mage tower I wanted to protect you. Keep you somewhere safe. FOREVER.
PC: ...
PC: ...awkward.

Lol. I knew that one. :D D. Gaider is made of awesome.  I never got the obsession with the Cullen/mage romance of others. It reminds me way too much on that horrible romance of fail thing in Twilight -- and not only because of the name. A dude who is watching you sleep and bathe? *Alistair voice* Yeah right...creeepy.

Later Mr. Gaider also wrote something among the line, (when someone mentioned Twilight):

Cullen *sniffs her hair* "You are my personal brand of lyrium." (or similar)

Gaaah, I just can't get away from this thread. I'm a weak, weak woman. :pinched:

All that talking about fanfiction reminds me that I should be off and writing instead of lingering here. They should finally leave Lothering after all. Maker, I learned to hate that village. <_<

Oh well.

You're not the only one.  I am stuck at one part in mine and keep putting off dealing with it instead of figuring it out.  And I'm running out of pre-written chapters.  Gonna have to slow down my release schedule to.

*does her best Alistair groan impression*

Ha I wish I had pre-written stuff. The chapter I post are actually the one up to date, I'm such a lame-as$ *groans* I'm now at the point where it is time for my Dalish to usher Leliana away with her "you are crazy, get lost -- expression" As for me being a moody person, there are days where I can't get a single coherent word out of my typing fingers, and try to stare the screen down instead.

Guess today is such a day. * groans again*

I tend to write when I realize how things are supposed to go, and it tends to come in big huge chunks.  My big long fic was at 70 pages in word before I started publishing.  The problem is that I can't just write, the story has to come to me, and it's frustrating as hell sometimes when it won't come.  Add that to the fact that I ahd another story that needed to be written, and it's slowed things even more.

Also, huge, huge props for A Midwinter's Thaw going all the way with the Alistair leaving ending.  The smaller fic I wrote did that, but I couldn't leave it as is.  Though if you stopped right before the last chapter, I guess it does stay that way.

Currently contemplating a story with the Alistair execution ending, though.  *ponders*

GACK I can't even do that in game let alone write about it. Hat's off to you if you can do it.  Made of sterner stuff than I indeed.  I am having a hard time with my HNF cause its right after the slaughter in Highever and she's having to deal with things on the road with Duncan to Ostagar.  Keep breaking out in tears.  Doesn't help that I listen to mood music while I write either.

We need Fergus or Teagan for king T-shirts. Or sigs would work too.

I like how Gaider actually mingles with the community. And he's on so many levels of awesome for creating Alistair, Zevran, Duncan and Shale. <3 He was the one responsible for Morrigan and Cailan, too.

Oh, and I finally got to the Awakening Alistair cameo last night. Ahhh... So very worth it. *U* I made a save file immediately after that battle with The Withered (took a lot of pauses and whatnot; the transition to the cutscene is really fast) just so I can load back and giggle whenever I want to. x3

Did anyone else find it incredibly sexy how he said it would have been so much more interesting keeping the PC at court? I can't help but think he had a lustful undertone when he said it. <3

Mmmm, I should clarify.  He wouldn't actually die.  Anora is partly right when she says there would always be those who would seek to use him, and this would be his way out.  It does profoundly change him, though.  He wouldn't be the same Alistair we all know and love, and that in itself is a kind of death.  I shall continue to ponder this.

I love to torture characters, hell I have written one where Alistair falls to pieces after the PC's death (based on the Alistair returned to rebuilt the warden but it wasn't the same anymore- ending) but executing him? O__O I think I could never do that, even not in a ficlet. I was complete shocked/ NOOOOES as I tested the keep Loghain option and Anora was like: OFF WITH HIS HEAD! and convinced her to let him be "free" instead.

Not to mention that I instantly reloaded to kill Loghain afterwards. Can't stand to do that to Alistair. It's like kicking a puppy. >_<

Someone really should make some sigs. I'd try, but I'm working in the toolset right now. We need a "I support Fergus for king" sig and one for Teagan as well, depending on the char I'm playing with at the time.

I just played through the Hardened Alistair execution scene and it was worse than I remembered. I forgot that he actually referenced the relationship, I thought he saved that bit of heart-wrenching for when he wasn't hardened. And, normally I reload right away when I watch these things, but this time I actually ran around Eamon's estate for a moment and found the chest with his things. *sob*

My biggest problem with writing right now is linearity. I'm basically writing from the outside in which makes me feel like I'm making zero progress. Ah, well.

*grins*  I know I have mentioned this other places, but I do absolutely god-awful things to my characters.  I use the Lya character *points to her avi* in my fics.  Sh's named after my favorite D&D character, and good lord, I did horrible, horrible things to her.  Alistair does not have an expression that could adequately sum it up.  I have unwilling to go that far with these chars, but you never know.  It would be...bad.

Oddly enough, in what I have written, Alistair never falls apart as badly as Lya does.  Her character is such that when she breaks, she breaks, and there's really no putting her back together.  The Alistair in my head is much better at picking up the pieces and moving on.

There's a chest with his things in Eamon's estate?  :o  I never knew this.  God, that would be friggin awful to find.  O_o

I should probably not be asking this, but what does he say if he's unhardened? I've seen the hardened one on YouTube, but I can't do it myself, even for curiosity's sake. I get sick to my stomach just thinking about it.

Same here. I will post what he says in a minute. I'm in the cutscene editor right now trying to figure out a way to fix the broken kiss cutscene.

Torturing characters is love. They have to overcome obstacles to get a boon in the end. (or if you are complete evil, they don't even get that *muaharhar*

IMHO among all the other things this is what makes Twilight so goddamn awful: there is no conflict, no struggling, just shoving the characters everything in their ****es. I hate when someone writes like this. It's just pointless and stupid.

Then again I read my fair share of fluff from time to time...

Anyway time for "nekkid" Alistair:

@sylvan- Ahh, gotta love Aimo. Her Dragon Age fanart is to die for! <3 And funny you should mention your fic idea; I was planning on writing something similar. The time from when Duncan and HN leaves Highever up to when they reach Ostagar just begs to be filled!

@SurelyForth- You find WHAT!? O___O Oh my... I don't think my little heart would be able to take it. It would break my heart. D; But that sort of makes me wish that they'd leave some sort of letter if Alistair walks out of the Landsmeet. Then again, fanfic could easily rectify that small detail...
