If you tell him "run, I never want to see you again" he actually ends up protecting travelers.
Zombie Apocolypse would have started without him, Connor would have become possessed with or without Jowan. There's also the option to free him with another dialog choice, and he'll appear in the main hall begging to help, to redeem himself. But if you really can't do that, then considering all he wants is to make things right with the circle (which is how Loghain took advantage) then the kindest thing is to leave him in the cell, and when Teagan, and later Eamon ask your opinion tell them it's not their place, it's a matter for the circle.

Ha, I have to say I did laugh at that. With her character, the writers seemed to want to risk making bigotry sound cute. It seems to work for some people.Sarah1281 wrote...
Leliana has permanently lost Orzammar privileges after the first time I heard her musing about getting a job there helping the King reach things on tall shelves. No, Leliana, that is not adorable.
Not to mention I wouldn't put it past most in the warrior/noble castes to have her killed for that remark...
Ah well, anything to hear a few of the Alistair banters I haven't heard in a while. Oh, and the ZDF-restored one with Zevran triggered the other day, the one where they're comparing Fereldan women to dogs. It did make me want to smack both of them. I'm going to pretend Idun was off selling some of her potions and haggling too loud to hear that little morsel.

You don't think Loghain would have sent someone ELSE to poison the Arl, had he not had Jowan? He would have, and likely to the same result. Connor is a mage, and an untrained one. Demons aren't summoned by him or Jowan. The demon preyed on him in his sleep, and because he wasn't sent to the circle to learn and control his magic, he was easy prey for the demon. Connor tells you she approached him in his dreams.

Oh gosh, there's a few I'm glad my Dalish never heard...the one about how the aravels move in the forest is harmless, but he has one about how halla horns are valuable in some areas.

The trees moving apart for the Dalish is mentioned in TST also, I believe. Seems to have been a common legend. Alistair definitely has clueless commentary, too. The one that always makes me facepalm is him wondering, when you enter the alienage, if the elves are going to gang up on you, if elves do that. Besides the fact that your party is armored, armed and an unstoppable force against darkspawn mobs...Sandtigress wrote...

It IS. Partly because he's moving so fast. I think the terrrrrible sloooowness of S&S fighting is probably exaggerated in the game in order to balance gameplay- higher defense is offset by an attack penalty. But good night, I hate watching while S&S warriors wind up for a blow. 2H is slightly better because, when they eventually get around to swinging, the blows are so powerful.Sandtigress wrote...

Meanwhile, Alistair's flurry followed up by a decisive decap could only be improved if he would smile like he does for SurelyForth.

Actually, while I think Leliana has very clear (though well-meaning) prejudices, especially when it comes to elves, Alistair just seems too clueless to be really prejudiced. I can't think of anything he says that's really awful, just things that would earn him a slap on the back of the head for being dumb. I mean, the elves are ganging up on that shem right when you walk into the alienage...

I agree, he gets some slack for having lived in more isolation. Leliana's comments seem to work the same way that her eventual discussion of being a bard does- to shock you because you don't expect such a syrupy sweet character to say some really awful things with a smile on her face. Her dialogue with a Dalish PC about dragging off women and children....Sandtigress wrote...

Maybe it has some basis in reality, since Zevran talks about Dalish in Antiva being "more violent" than those in Ferelden.

It's one of the first dialogues you have with her as an elven PC. For mages and city elves, she talks about life in an alienage. For a Dalish PC, she talks about being pleasantly surprised you haven't dragged off any women or children. Then both go into how elves are highly valued as servants in Orlais etc. I was going to make a video of it but I can't remember if I actually did or not... will check when I get home.Kryyptehk wrote...

Don't get me wrong - Alistair as SS is sexy - I always yell for him to help me if an ogre's got me, and he always comes running to my rescue.
However, in every other case, dual wield wins it for me, hands down, and can literally take my breath away when done well in movies and the like. I had to try really really really hard not to squee outloud last night with all the terrific dual-wield acrobatics in the movie last night.

That is what all humans get told about Dalish and it is her job to keep track of stories.
Edit: As to the servant thing, she comes from a similar background.

You know, I don't remember this so well either. This could cause trouble for Kara and Leliana....maybe they're not as good friends as I thought. And the more I think about it, Morrigan and she probably get along decently well. Rethinking RP into a coherent story makes for interesting changes when you try to be really thorough...
Ackkkkkk, another ToP! That's the third one this morning!
