The one they're showing now Medal of Honor or whatever, is scary realistic I'll give em that. Oh and it's coming out on Hubby's birthday. Yay present idea.

I only know it because it's (Afghanistan)where he is deployed at the moment, and how he described it. The river Valley in the trailer is a location he's dealt with as well. The only FPS I have finished was half life 2.

Out of curiousity: is it overrreacting if you don't want to date someone that is racist against you even though they aren't malicious about it and are just ignorant?
I suppose it would depend on whether you thought they could/will/have change(d) their minds. No elf of mine would think very highly of Leliana comparing them to pampered household pets. But as the game progresses...? Maybe - she does appear to re-evaluate her views based on what you tell her.
For me, it would be a situation by situation basis. How serious was the racist comment, how serious were they about it, are they willing to be corrected, etc. In some cases, I wouldn't even consider dating that person, in others, not so bad.

Well I think it depends if they learn from their ignorance. If they learn from it, then I think they could be forgiven but if they continue being ignorant then, no, it isn't overreacting.

I don't know. If it's willful ignorance, than I'd say it's not overreacting. But I can't fault a person for holding the same beliefs as everyone around them, I can only fault a person for not then being open to the possibility that those beliefs are full of sh*t (or still clinging to them when proof debunking their racism is presented).
Does that make sense?

Alistair: I... I guess I was expecting her to accept me without question. Isn't that what family is supposed to do? I... I feel like a complete idiot.
Warden: You don't need her. You should find your own happiness.
Alstiar: Yes. I suppose you're right. I should.
That's perfect, actually, and very close to what I tell myself is being said.
ToP! It has to be Tuesday somewhere in the world, right?
I think you could safely change "virgins" to "men." LOL
And is that Rylock that Brand is taking to school?

My Dalish PCs start out with preconceptions about humans, too. As long as someone is open-minded, it can work, but you have to decide if a cross-cultural friendship (or just one where the two people start out from very different places) is what you want to begin with. They will always be more work.Sandtigress wrote...

Edit: Oh, and no one there admits that she is racist even though she herself will concede the point because apparently racism has to be motivated by hatred.

Yes. I've fought her several times and Brand always gets the kill in. For some reason she feels strongly about a woman who a) is threatening one of her Wardens (never mind that it's her pet Warden) and
Here's the kill from another angle!
