I would not be surprised if that was a huge part of it. The man does have some standards for his own appearance.

Some standards?   The man appreciates it when you give him a finely knitted scarf and earrings!  There wouldn't be questions about Anders' sexuality if he only had some standards.    Not that we believe any of the rumors, Anders dear.
