Heh, I was clicking randomly on all the bonus lines so I'm not sure which scene that one belongs to. The description says that you're responsible for Alistair's first night and I only get the vanilla scenes for the first night so I don't think you have to worry about this one being yours. Right? =pDahliaLynn wrote...

Heh, some of our game choices will have been similar but with different reasoning. Idun is not ruthless, in fact as I imagine it, having to become a big destructo-mage is taking a toll on her personally. She also doesn't want to use blood magic for its own sake. Her clan made a Faustian bargain with Flemeth and she got caught in that, learning blood magic as a side... "benefit." She understands that it's a curse as much as a blessing and thus it doesn't take much persuasion for Alistair to convince her that it is something for dire need only.Lady Jess wrote...

She'll side with the Werewolves (before we get Zev) becaue Zathrien lied like a sack of crap, and the dog growled at him and that says something. Yes, Im serious. She'll spare the Anvil because hey, Golems to fight the blight? yes pls. (hence not even recruiting shale). She'll even Anul the circle, and side with the templars. The templars remained neutral, the rest of the mages can rot for all she cares for the way she was treated.
Yet I think during the time she is romping with Alistair she'll realize she does want love...but not with him. Way too much difference. But Zev can worm his way in.
As I think about the Dalish approach to magic, it seems that they are more tolerant of the so-called darker forms of magic because they don't have the same superstitious fears of them as the Chantry does. But for that very reason, they are more adept at handling them and even more no-nonsense. Idun annulled the Circle, killed Connor, and as I saw it, she was on to Zathrian before it even came out that he was an abomination, too. She wasn't going to kill him for that reason alone, because in my conception the elves have made such bargains before, but neither was she going to allow him to continue destroying people, either.
Because she is basically Chaotic Good, she and Alistair will have a rocky relationship but to my mind they are both on a basically heroic path and it still works. The rockiness and contradictions are what makes it interesting.

I think Jaina is going to suffer from everyones belief that blood magic in and of itself is evil. She's a circle mage. So, in my mind the minute Alistair, Wynne, and Leliana find this out they back away from her (or outright leave). Sten not so much, a mage is a mage is a horror to him anyhow, I don't think he cares about school of magic. So her likely team will be her, Alistair, Morrigan, Zev. But she's not giggling maniacally while causing blood to boil in the veins of people or anything. But she's not about to let herself be controlled like she was pre-tower. Blood Magic was learned to protect herself, but she's realised it has practical and powerful implications in the field, she wouldn't use it for evil though. It's just that noone asks her, they just assume.

Alistair, I think, will assume that using blood magic on Isolde was evil especially if she explains that it's just easier than going to the Circle...he would definitely take that the wrong way.Lady Jess wrote...

Yeah, that's what I figure. I can't see them together past some screwing around on her part. So, yeah, she's probably going to break his heart. If I play it the whole way, she'll probably be plagued with guilt going into Awakening. possibly going as far as putting him with Anora, and letting him refuse the ritual and sacrifice himself. But I'm not sure there yet.

Though he yells at Idun for not doing the ritual instead of killing Connor. You really can't win with him on either of those choices.Sarah1281 wrote...

However, this was with the Circle annulled already, so they weren't an option. And in my PC's mind, trusting Jowan to perform a blood ritual wasn't an option, either. If she had had another Dalish mage there to do it herself, that would be a different story, maybe.
As a mage, you really don't need any more reason to break up with Alistair than "so, you're going to be king eh? b'bye." That's what I did on my previous blood mage, Sula, because I didn't want Morri to be his first time, but I intended her for Zevran.

Jaina and Jowan were close. She trusts him with her life, as the only friend she had at the tower. I WISH Alistair had another point where he'd break up with you. I just don't know how I'm going to do it. I'd like to have him still in love, because that's really IC for him. He's the guy that sex = love, and once fallen he isn't going to bounce back. It's just hard to rp him AND my PC both, when you have so little control over him. But I don't want to put off the romance with Zev until landsmeet either. I need them to go through the casual fling growing into more together.

Is it strange that it never occurred to me to feel bad that Alistair's first time is with Morrigan (or Anora) whenever I don't romance him? I don't think the subject even comes up for a girl not romancing him since it's a romance-starter.
Character-wise, they really shouldn't feel bad about it because, as you said, they wouldn't know, but I usually feel really bad about it. I always start the romance with him and then go to the other romance. Of course, those characters would more than likely really like him until the point where they had to choose anyway, so.

I played my CEF as not able to look at Alistair in that way due to her experiences, so it was the only PC I've had besides my male PC who didn't even turn his romance on. But as a player I felt terribly guilty for doing that to him. She didn't know she was sending him off for his first time to do a shady ritual with a woman he hates, but I did.Sarah1281 wrote...

Destruct-o Mage is Indiscriminately Destructive!
Also, I've been giving him swords with flame runes, so that increases his flameyness quite a bit. In Ron's game, he won't be nearly as singed.
