@Pon -- I don't really have any nicknames for him. Probably "Al" rather than "Ali" (I like short and crisp names without putting a "y" sound at the end, if I can). Characters that didn't romance him would call him "salroka," which is dwarven slang for friend.

That's another reason I play DN so often: I can't stand just leaving him there on the Surface  when the post-coronation shows how much he'd rather be in Orzammar. I have to say, though, that watching this helped.

Some of the custom guy meshes are hulkier than others, so if characters are put very close it can probably happen with some combinations by the looks of it.

Unfortunately there is only one scene that isn't tied in to dialogue for all three races, and that is the "kiss him" one.

Not sure what that means. You can only pick from one dwarf kiss or you can't modify the kisses because they're all smooshed together in an one-scene-fits-all?

No each race has it's own kiss scenes, but unless people want Alistair to say "so I fooled you did I" before each scene, I can't use the kiss that is connected to that line. I am experimenting now with the cutscene editor again, so I will what I can do.

edit: I am still not a friend of the cutscene editor. But I will do the best I can!

She got a lot of commissions all of a sudden and updated her DA blog to say the following:

UPDATE as of 6/03/2010: Thanks so much for all the interest so far guys! It's really flattering! I am working a summer job now, however, so it might take around 1-2 weeks for me to start on new orders. But if you don't mind that wait, I'd still love to hear what you might be interested in, so I can have something to think about during boring work days!

I abhor the nickname "Ali".  I always call him Alistair.  It's not terribly original, but my pcs prolly just call him "love".  Friend characters might call him "Al".

I like the nickname Ali, lol. Hence why when I'm shortening his name, I always call him that. But I imagine my characters would only call him Ali when they were alone, since it does sound rather feminine.

I am nickname happy IRL (which is why so many of my characters have names that are short for other names), but I am woefully unable to come up with anything creative for DA characters. I do call Alistair "Dude" a lot in my head. Also, my main HNF calls him "Alis" just to even the playing field (since her nickname is Brand, and it's not the most feminine thing in the world).

Well from what I've heard, Gilsa's took weeks because that was finals time, Lady Jess got her two done in the next two days, my first one took three days and she said she was going to do two other people's (TotoroTori and Yuki's as it happened) before getting to my second one. My first one was up May 31, TotoroTori's was up June 5, and Yuki's was up June 10th.

Lol huh? I will mess with it but no promises. Which is the best dwarf kiss folks? I have yet to see one out of the editor and what I see in the editor and what I see in-game are often very different.

Yeah, I'm very nickname happy IRL too lol. Probably because I have a million nicknames of my own and people in my family don't really call people by their real names unless we're angry. I think I only have one person calling me by my name right now (and he's online, so he doesn't count:P)

So if I can't think of a nickname, I just call people 'darling' or 'dear'.

I will check and get back to you on this. I know there's one dwarf kiss that annoys me because her head is craned too far back like she's looking at his boy-hair instead of his face. =p

Is Ron short for something in your head?    lol It would actually be useful to know, for the little something I have eventually planned...

My Kara was initially created in my brother's copy of DA so I just named her really fast, decided i liked the name but it wasn't very Dalish, made it a nickname in my head, then named her the longer version when I recreated her to RP her better.

But as for Alistair, I rarely ever RP nicknames for him...I wanted to come up with a Dalish endearment but hate making up terms in other languages.  But I thought that since the word for friend was gender specific, it would be kind of cool to combine the two, indicating that someone was sort of "male to my female" as a literal translation for lover/husband/wife.  So in one of my shorts (which might become a chapter?) she calls him lethallan'in - I might keep it, haven't decided yet.

To those interested, Ali means noble / elevated in Arabic and it is a boy's name (Trivia: the first person to be called that is my ancestor). And yea I dislike that nickname because I don't see how a Fereldan is going to have a name like that.

Hmm...I think I found a way to harden Alistair with my own timeline. Apparently it can be done via console. Since I'd already done Goldanna ages ago, before cmessaz's fix to add more lines. I really thought non king alistair shouldn't be hardened, but...maybe it' just me, but the whole relationship talk kinda sucks when he isn't. I danged near just ended it when I heard that. It' like you gave yourself to him, you supported him, you used your influence to not make hi king because thats what he wanted, and yet you get the whole commitmentphobic response. Kinda made me feel like he was saying "hey sex is great and all, but I can't tell you that I'll hold on to you"

Well, I imagine it being more Ali like "Aly" for Alison or something. Which I dislike using for Alistair because one of my best friends is called Ally so it feels weird. If I'm gonna shorten his name I call him Al >.>
