So in other words...unhardened Alistair will never get married unless someone (like the PC or Eamon) forces him to at the Landsmeet or for heir purposes.Lady Jess wrote...

Alistair seems to be under the impression that he's still a candidate for King in that conversation.Lady Jess wrote...
Hmm...I think I found a way to harden Alistair with my own timeline. Apparently it can be done via console. Since I'd already done Goldanna ages ago, before cmessaz's fix to add more lines. I really thought non king alistair shouldn't be hardened, but...maybe it' just me, but the whole relationship talk kinda sucks when he isn't. I danged near just ended it when I heard that. It' like you gave yourself to him, you supported him, you used your influence to not make hi king because thats what he wanted, and yet you get the whole commitmentphobic response. Kinda made me feel like he was saying "hey sex is great and all, but I can't tell you that I'll hold on to you"
Not with Cmessaz's mod installed. She fixed that thank GOD, but he's still , if unhardened, unwilling to commit to your relationship being as (not more) important than honor/duty. He essentially acts like there can't be any more than there is to it.
I suspect he'd do it after the Blight, just not before it's over. He's afraid that being in love will someone interfere wtih ending the Blight, right? In a Wynne-esque manner, somehow, maybe.
After the Blight, when it's just you two and you go back to being just Grey Wardens? I think Alistair is too much of a romantic and a family hopeful to not at least want to propose. Then again, he might hesistate about the inability to have kids thing, most likely because he'd be afraid of the Warden wanting children he couldn't provide, but maybe even because he wants kids and can't have them with her...
