He thanks you (or should) if you don't make him king either way. At the Landsmeet, he's slightly shirtier about having to forswear his claim to the throne when he's hardened, but that's it. There's no approval drops or anything.

If he's hardened his approval drops if you TELL him you're going to support Anora before the landsmeet - he says something like "Yeah, well, not too pleased about that, but if it means I can still be a warden, go for it." You lose 10 points.

I thought for a while if you tell him before the landsmeet that you then get the option to name who is king even if he DOES kill Loghain - but that could just be because I was playing a HNF - I didn't realise you got that option no matter what if he was in love with you. P'd me off because I think it's only fair he gets to kill Loghain whether you make him king or not.

I forgot about that drop. I almost never outright support Anora (usually I arrange for them to marry or tell her I'm supporting Alistair, depending on whether I want a Landsmeet Battle Royale or not).

Anderstair is quite popular around here.  As is Maricstair.

I was bemoaning a lack of Awakening resources so I could work some screenshot magic with Anders, but I'm not a fan of mingling Anders/Alistair, and I love both. Their looks are part of their personalities, and I wouldn't want to upset that balance.

He doesn't look like Anders..  he looks like Alistair with his hair a little longer and pulled back.
I don't have a screenshot of Anders but, if you do a close up of Ali and Andy you would see they don't look alike
