Aye, it really is all about Alistair in that scene. It's his shining moment. I love how special the warden makes it for him and you can just feel the tenderness radiating from him as well.

You have two choices you can go from here:

1) You can start a new game and recreate her face in the character creator from the same preset that you used (if you remember which one it was). If you're happy with it, save the new game and follow the instructions in FaceReplacer to take the face from the new game and overwrite the face in your old game.

2) You can try to recreate her face in the toolset. Once you're happy with it, you can overwrite the old face by either editing the .das file of a saved game or using FaceReplacer (read the text file enclosed for instructions). The downside to using the toolset is that there are many more controls and sliders so it might be harder to get the exact face you have in the game. The upside is  ... well, you have way more control in customizing your faces and you can start to add special make-up, tattoos, scars, and so on. You can open up the face in toolset and make changes any time you want (like if there are new hairstyles you want to try out).

Make the face first either with the CC or in the toolset. Once you're happy, then come back with questions on how to transfer the new face to your game and we'll help you. It's OK to be overwhelmed because the toolset IS daunting!

...

 Wow, I must be totally non-game savvy, because I hope you just realize that reading all of that just made my head *literally* spin with confusion. So, you're saying that if I try and recreate her face with the fixed up features in character creator and use the...hm...face whatever file, I can be able to switch her faces out correctly without the game turning all goofy and stuff on me and I can continue playing?

Well, is the face replacer thing more compliacted than the toolset? Because, like I said, I have difficulites learning new stuff. HECK. I just recently learned how to mod Morrigan's face and I was shocked to see it working right. I hope that isn't too stupid. Anyway. I'm sorry for all the questions. You must think I'm a total idiot. :pinched:

I haven't used the face replacer, but from what I've read it seems to have good directions. It lets you switch out your face any time without screwing up your game -- You just have to have a new face to do it with.

As for the toolset-- it is daunting, but the more you use it the more fun it is to make faces with :)

Don't apologize for your questions. You can't know this stuff from simply playing DA.

Using FaceReplacer is a lot easier then recreating a character in the toolset. You can't do terribly wrong, just make a backup of your characters folder before you start and you're on the safe side.

The toolset made my head spin, too. I downloaded it in December and was ready to actually use it in April. I was too intimidated at first.

Pfft, I'm married to an Alistair. He was a frat boy through and through so no blushing virgin there, but he definitely had Alistair's wit and snappy comebacks along with being the one to take all the emotional risks. My romantic personality is the equivalent of Zevran -- my family expressed their love for each other via actions so verbalizing my emotions wasn't something that came easily for me. I laughed when Alistair said, "I love you. See, that wasn't so hard, was it?" because WHERE HAVE I HEARD THAT BEFORE? =p

Also a kinda toolset-related question: can you use Dracomies True Colors without having to install the entire mod (Dragonage Redesigned)? Because I do like SOME of the faces he/she made but not all so I do not want to use the entire thing. The new colors of eyes and lips are very nice tho, I see Lady Jess using them all the time...

You can just install his true textures portion. You have to download the whole thing, but you can just install that one part. If you just want the eyes and lips, then you can open the .erf file in the toolset and delete everything except for the eye textures and lips.

Thank you all so very much for your patient towards my questions, I already managed to create a new face in the character creator part of the game, and I look forward to trying out this little program tomorrow to see if it will work for me. Can I get some opinions though, do you believe that the new face I created is any better? Does it compliment her more? Or hurt her? I want to make sure, because even with characters, I'm my own worse critic.

Left for before, right for after I tinkered with her.

Yes I know her lips still look a bit crazy, but I'm trying to fix that. Just for friendly advice, what would I change on her face? I tried making her look less fat. :P Because I saw that in the original she did look a bit...chubby. >__> Poor girly. Tsktsk. I'm horrible to my characters. XD

lol -- I found out because I wanted to use his eyes, but I didn't want the white teeth.

I use tmp's teeth mod for that :D

For using just a few of the npc's, you can just put the characters you want to keep in your override file. As long as you keep the textures that are in the .erf file, there shouldn't be a problem. At least, I haven't run into one yet!

I play voluptuous dwarves. There is no way that (elf? human?) looks chubby. =p (Tall people all look the same to me!) I honestly have no suggestions for improvement. SHE LOOKS FINE. FIIINNNEEEEEEEEEE.

Thanks Sabreena, Ill try that!

Yes I like tmp's teeth mod a lot, much better then the white teeth mod. That just too white. And vanilla teeth are too yellow lol.

*pets my Noble Dwarf* I love my little Genar. <3 Her cute little chubbiness. And Kestrel is an City Elf. Hard to tell considering that she has all that hair covering her hair. Now there's something that would be cool to fix with a mod. Her pointed ears sticking out of her hair.

...Ah, but I've asked enought tonight. Anyway, thank you so much! Now I feel far more comfortable about her. I can't wait to edit all this tomorrow and head to Lothering. Weee! This game just far better for me!

You improved the eyebrows and the facial structure, yet she looks like herself.

Oh a quick extra question: if I install the true colors will they have an effect on the looks ingame right away?

No, they are eye textures. The normal eye colors are tints.

Textures can only be applied via toolset and you have to do this for each character you want to use them for. If you install Dracomies' morphs they will be used but even he hasn't added them to all his morphs yet.

Do you know about tmp's tucked hair mod? It would allow you to use the same hairstyle and show off the ears. Look at the second image on the bottom row. He has other hairstyles available in that link. You may find yourself torn with indecision on which to use, just warning ya. ;)

Actually, the true textures will change the teeth. You might notice that right away. In the new true textures he modified the skin files, making all the teeth whiter and also getting rid of some eye bags.

I'm not sure if you'll see those skin files or tmps skin files (if you have his teeth), since they edit the same thing. If you get something screwy, or too bright of teeth, that's what it is, though.
