yea, I know its for giggles. Its cool. It just I dunno...I'm feeling a bit prickly this morning and some of that was talking about MarySueness of the PC earlier. Won't go into details, its not your pic,k darlin', its me with the problem.

*Edit* cause I don't want to imply its Surely's PC I was talking about, it was talking about PC MarySueness in general (DSC, HNM Marries Anora and she submits to his big peen etc)

ETA: I understand what you're saying, syl. One of the places that the Loghain/Alistair debate falls apart for me is when people start asserting the unimpeachable wonderfulness of their PC. I am not a fan of perfect PCs (and Ron's not perfect, he just looks that way ).

Alas, The Warden is kind of a MarySue magnet...I mean, when two people defeat something that only dozens/hundreds of Wardens before were needed it's kind of got "Mary Sue" stamped all over it.  You have to RP pretty hard to give your Warden faults, and even then, you're still pretty BAMF.   And I think that aspect appeals to a lot of people, especially your more casual players, I would think.  The people in this thread, for instance, usually seem to go to pretty extensive lengths to make their Wardens not so perfect in RP. *shrugs*

It's too late for that, my friend. And she can only replace male elves, so 75% of the game would still be safe.

I see Ron as the perfectly awesome parody. Women want him, men want to be him. He can kill several bad guys with a single swipe of his sword, and smirks while doing it! He can talk anyone into agreeing with him! He saves kingdoms! Defeats the Archdemon single-handedly! He's The Ron F*cking Mahariel!!



....at least, this is what Ron has become in my head.

Like I said, just feeling a bit prickly this morning.  I like Ron, he's cute, and I have a devil of a time making any male Elf who doesn't look like an extra from Deliverance, but I don't have Ron in my game so not understanding the whole "gush on another person's PC" thing.  I love Surely, her posts make me laugh and she's a smart person its not an attack on either.  Its just a lack of comprehending the whole gush thing.

In reality ("") he's a little less awesome. Actually, he's more the quiet, unflappable type although he is a little smirky about his mad stabbing and interpersonal skills (that's a flaw, right?).

You are making me want to write a story about The Ron F*cking Mahariel that goes along The Ultimate BAMF line. Alistair will always be shunted to the side in favor of the Glory that is Ron.

lol Honestly? I don't understand the gush either and I'm the cause of it.
