Thanks, tmp! I'll go mess around with it in a bit.

And... she looks older? Okay, how about now?

Posted Image

No? Now?

Posted Image

Okay. Fine.

Posted Image

Happy, Tori? xDD

I forgot to change her hair back to normal, but she's back now! She'll have the short hair for Awakening, though.

A Lothering Tale...

A Dalish, a Templar and an Apostate walk into a bar...

A Loghain thug assaults them, and som nut case chantry sister jumps in. And has the NERVE to tell Lyra not to kill the guy..Lyra tells her instead to say a prayer because he's dying..

Posted Image

On your KNEES Loghain butt kisser!

Posted Image

Then, crazy lady wants to come along! Morrigan thinks the girl is nutty, so does Alistair...Lyra agrees. Sad Sister...

Posted Image

Then we steal a Qunari...Alistair and Morrigan think THIS is ok, and we trust them. One picked lock later, and off we go.

Posted Image

We're almost out of town when we get accosted by strange chantry lady again. Lyra said no, and Alistair said she was strange, but in a happy sunshine way, not a princess stabbity stabbity kill kill way. Lyra caves because the boy made her laugh.

The End.

Haha, Jess, I think my character is also practicing her pleading. I don't think she's as convincing as Alistair though, looking at how she's a pincushion.

*hates to ask again* Does anyone really know a more simple way to make the FaceReplacer Mod...program...whatever load on my computer? It's kinda being stupid and won't pop up. Hmmm. :pinched: Any help would be appriecated, of course. <3^_^

I prolly will confuse you more because I don't really know what I'm doing either.  But I downloaded it, then using WinRAR to unzip, I could see the .exe program.  Once I downloaded Python, the .exe had a Python icon and I open it.  This brings up the screen where it is asking for a source file and destination file for your swap.

Clear as mud?

Ok so this shot - if you had made this new scene any hotter the poor guy would have spontaneously combusted. Or maybe I would have.

for what's worth, with the shading completely removed from that area it looks sort of like this:

(there's Alistair in the picture too but he's hiding behind and looking for guidance again, i guess...)

Yeah these normal map things (the "n" files) are pretty tricky to work with, it's doable with some custom program maybe which i don't have, and i don't think it really works any good on smooth shapes like this... so i generally just paint such parts neutral grey and let the underlying shape work for itself.

Isn't the normal map taken out of the 3D model? Usually from a high poly version of the model? And applied on the low poly one? Something like that... So you could take a normal map from the model and work it it...
Or am I getting this wrong and you're talking about something else? I'm probably missing something here...

O/T but this Fallout New Vegas trailer is extremely disappointing.  Such primitive graphics and animation compared to Fallout 3!

Man, this E3 thing has been epic fail.

Yes, it's either that if there's high poly version of the model made, or it is something painted/sculpted directly just like regular textures with program like ZBrush. Or as last resort it can be done by painting height field map and then using it to generate the normal map from it.

It's just the normal mapping really shines when you're trying to create illusion of intricate, detailed surface with bumps, ridges and whathaveyou, it's very good at fooling the eye these details exist where they don't and the amount of detail draws attention away from possible inaccuracies. But for very smooth surfaces like breasts that illusion can easily break depending on camera angle so it can just detract from the final effect instead of add to it, imo.

So what you're saying is that you need an artist to paint it to make it great. Got it. :)

@Sarah1281: I'm starting to hate that image. Couldn't you use something else? To show that you're reviving the thread, as it seems you're there to post when it's dead...

That sounded like high praise if anything, i wouldn't worry Posted Image

I just jumped at the spontaneous combustion part. and the ironic thing is that I am working on that exact shot now.
(trying to improve cam angles)  I was always self conscious about it.:pinched:

Wow. I don't normally go for scenes that are at all graphic, but...wow. Very nicely done. Just out of curiosity, what format are the cutscenes in?
