noone's past Ostagar/Lothering yet, except my Dalish. SShe's at the first real camp after recruiting Zev and learning Alistair's secret. The ducked back out of Redcliffe after he told her that, and will probably go to the Dalish first. Also, Eamon made me like him in Caislyn's playthrough. Damn him. I threw out the "why can't Alistair just marry Anora?" and he gives me "I see the way he looks at you..." That could essentially talk you right out of THAT plan, with his support!

Currently in Deep Roads. Gonna side with Bhelen on this run. I *know* he's better for the dwarves in the long run, but it sucks to turn my back on Harrowmont like that when he is a good man that has gone out of his way to help me.

I kind of think it's Eamon being Eamon. He cares about what Alistair wants and about Alistair himself, but in the end, that's secondary to the good of the throne. He mentions it because he knows Alistair will protest the arrangement given how he feels about the Warden, but won't oppose it even so because it's the easiest route to political security, with Theirin blood and Anora's savvy.
Basically, it's Eamon failing at trying to be caring like he always does.

While keeping in mind this has nothing to do with anyone's PC or what could happen in the future, Eamon really doesn't want to lose the Theirin bloodline and almost did once already so one of the first things that I think he's going to be concerned with is getting Alistair married to try for heirs. Regardless of whether or not Alistair does this, that's probably Eamon's plan so if he supports you staying with Alistair then he would have to be in support of you being the mistress to the married-to-whoever-Eamon-feels-is-appropriate Queen.Lady Jess wrote...

I saw it as more being observant Alistair's feelings about the PC, and was questioning putting Anora between them. You cannot be a mistress if Alistair is unmarried, so no, I wouldn't agree he is/isn't in favor of you being one. Any pc that chose stay in the relationshp with Alistair if he married,would THEN be a mistress, but if/when I finally do that ending, and IF bioware (which is not likely to happen, they don't seem to give a crap and a half about this stuff) ever goes "Surprise! Alistair got married!!" would then step aside and STILL not be a mistress.

If my HN isn't in the picture then Anora always is which makes you either the Baizyl or the Rica in that scenario which can very easily offend your pride. Not to mention that I don't believe he'll stay single and didn't like having to hide a relationship so wouldn't be willing to do it again.Gilsa wrote...

It would make sense if Anora was staying in the picture, but other than that, it just means your boyfriend landed a very cushy job, nothing more. =p
Keep in mind that I largely view these events from a dwarf perspective. I don't really think about what it's like as a human noble and can forget some things because of that. Gorim was my second and I never thought any less of him because we couldn't be together openly. I would have just ruled as solo queen and kept seeing Gorim if we weren't allowed to marry. I realize the heir issue complicates things, but it's just talk. Kings come and go. Someone else will replace Alistair if no heir comes forward and the people will still survive the drama. The dwarven assembly picks the king so even if I had a heir for the dwarf throne, it didn't mean that my heir would get the position. I like that they would still give the position to someone worthy, even a casteless.

This is true. I'd like to cross that bridge when I get to it (if it gets addressed in a sequel, which I have high doubts). I think they want to move the game forward, not tie up loose ends in origins so I view my actions in origins as if it's a stand-alone game. I can fill in the blanks for my personal games after the epilogue cards unless they really do expand upon this. Otherwise I want new romances, new stories, and so on!Herr Uhl wrote...

Then there is the thing that he will probably have to marry someone sooner or later, and try to impregnate said person. If that fails there at least is a family of the Queen to prevent a succession war.
