Well it's laggy, and youtube killed the quality, but you can hear the conversation and see it well enough. The persuade check was "from the grey wardens of course" and then I just agreed with Irving. Interesting little tidbit about Mage wardens in there.

Wynne confronts Jaina

You know, that whole 'Only 1 mage warden at one time' thing is such total BS.  1) It makes no sense and 2) You can have up to 3 in awakening, so...

I'm willing to bet it was a story hold over that got cut, and the dialogue was never adjusted.

The guy in the mage origin says the same. I think that the Chantry is only willing to allow one of their Circle mages to become a Warden at any given time so if they want more then they'll need to invoke the Rite of Conscription and when it's not an emergency situation like a Blight or intelligent darkspawn like in Awakening then they do not want to deal with the repercussions.

And yes, I know there were more than one mage Warden at Soldier's Peak but that was a long time ago and Chantry policy might have changed since then or perhaps only the Ferelden Chantry decided this when the Wardens were let back in twenty years ago.

Also, I was reading a DA story and one of the characters mispronounced Zevran 'Zevron' and it reminded me of, well...Posted Image

That's what I was going to say. Wasn't it Dryden that got the wardens banished? If so, they may have adopted the one mage rule after that.  And by Awakening, the PC has changed the Wardens a bit anyhow, plus like Sarah said, you conscript Anders to save him from the chantry and help with the darkspawn so that would be an exception. I don't count Velanna, she only joins for what she sees as "power" she can use to find her sister. She can (and usually is by me) be refused, and she leaves after.

Also, I was reading that same story and thinking the same thing...lol

I caved and started being nicer to Alistair. I gave him a doll, I mean action figure and a cake. Though Jaina is still in hostile range he got to talk about Duncan. She's slowwwwwly learning to be nice. Talking to Zevran, and seeing how hard he's had it and can still be happy, and kind is helping I think.

Though my fear is Alistair is LESS interesting as a friend than hostile. This is where they could have done better. Zevran makes an amazing friend, with dialog to support it. Even if you stick him in the friend zone right off. But Alistair is pretty bland for a female pc in the friend zone.

I agree with this, which is why I tried to create a better friendship in lolfanfic between him and Missa. They are snark buddies.

Looks interesting.  I'm very easily bored with games, but if you say the story line is good I might check it out.

I have finished AC2 and I must say that I found it very nice to play. Visually it's amazing and it's nice for those of us who aren't blessed with the twitchy fingers of a 14 year old, because it allows you to make really amazing animations sequences, running jumping, and backstabbing, without being too difficult to pull it off. Running and climbing on the rooftoops of renneisance Florence and Venize is awesome.

The plot is very nice, but you have to be able to accept the fact that it's a bit "Dan Brown-ish" although it's better than Dan Brown (which isn't saying a lot in my book, but still...).

Yeah, Zevran is excellent as a friend. It's why he's always been recruited in all of my playthroughs (except for that one crazy Brosca game -- only Sten and Loghain were left in the end). Alistair's best lines come from whether he really likes you or really doesn't like you. I hate to say this, but ever since I got the feast day gifts, it's been easy to just get all the companions to 100 without needing to talk to them. I talk to Leliana because I want her song at the campfire. I talk to Wynne because I want her to ask me about being a Grey Warden. I talk to Alistair for hardening (and romance if that's included). I may or may not do Sten's quest. I may or may not do Morrigan's quest. Zevran doesn't have a quest or anything special or witty so there's no reason for me to talk to him unless I'm romancing him. I know that's awful, but when you've played this game a million times ...

Edit: See, I've forgotten about Oghren. What's the point in doing the Felsi quest since he's going to knock her up without my help. I haven't recruited Shale in the last few games either.

I just don't get it, if David Gaider wrote both of them, why not do it equally. Unless it was assumed no female PC would ever NOT romance him. Now, I don't expect to have the hilarious before/after the tent conversation with Alistair, that I can have with Zev. It wouldn't fit (and yes I'm still chuckling over that), but make the friendships on the same level at least. I love your friend Alistair by the way:)

Yeah, I'm trying to actually write a friendship between my Warden and Alistair, too, otherwise she probably won't care when bad things happen to him particularly if they're her doing...Posted Image

Your process of hardening him by inches the whole fic is certainly interesting and, while inapplicale to the actual gameplay, feels a lot more realistic.

1) Always recruit Shale as I love her.
2) I agree about the gifts. It'd also how I'm going to get the Leliana achieve on my naive Surana as DAMN elf racism.
3) You have reminded me to use gifts to here the hate speech Alistair does. Not heard it yet, apparently it's hot.

Oh, before you do that, raise his faction first and get him interested in you and THEN start dropping his approval level. That way you'd get his breakup speech in addition to the max hostile speech.

Edit: I thought Alistair's breakup speech was better than Zevran's. Alistair gets to the point in saying you're not who he thought you were. Zevran just sounds like he's repeating a bad joke and leaving it to the warden to figure out his meaning.

not really :-/

hello, my plot choices. They are paper obvious amirite? The nature of Missa is I can't do subtle though, unless I throw her a complete curveball.

I still do the talking. And mostly let the game do the rest. The only feastday gifts I give are the +10 ones, usually becaue with all the custom armor and stuff, I honestly don't loot. So I miss gold bars, and books, etc. Then again, even though I first started playing in December (i think?) these characters are the first I've REALLY played, with RP and everything. Because I've only recently figured out how to really do it. My first ones were CC created, and not well. They romanced Alistair, and that was about all the deeper they went. So this bunch, even though it's repetitive, it's still kind of new. I still don't care about Oghren, and most times forget Shale.

Jaina is the first to be picky about recruiting and tell Leliana to sod off. I didn't intend for her to recruit Wynne, but it happened. As far as she's concerned if the old bat wants to tag along fine, but there's no relationship there. And I still stumble on new lines, and somehow ended up comforting Morrigan when she discovered Flemeth's plans. Never saw that before, and forget how I got it.

But Zev, some of the most fun I have is with him as friend or romance. I just wish Alistair had more friend. But he'll be hostile for a while. Redcliffe is coming...lol

Whoa! wait how does this occur?? I trashed my plan to start with Alistair and end it because I didn't think he broke up with you pre-landsmeet? I'd actually go back and fix that if I knew how to make it happen.
