I think it's a basic getting his approval down low enough and he'll dump you because he simply cannot stand you.Lady Jess wrote...

Oh, before you do that, raise his faction first and get him interested in you and THEN start dropping his approval level. That way you'd get his breakup speech in addition to the max hostile speech.
Edit: I thought Alistair's breakup speech was better than Zevran's. Alistair gets to the point in saying you're not who he thought you were. Zevran just sounds like he's repeating a bad joke and leaving it to the warden to figure out his meaning.
Whoa! wait how does this occur?? I trashed my plan to start with Alistair and end it because I didn't think he broke up with you pre-landsmeet? I'd actually go back and fix that if I knew how to make it happen.

Jess, you start the romance however you can (tell him he's handsome, whatever) and then start losing approval from there. He doesn't need to be max hostile. Just when he flips to hostile. I think hostile is at -25? The you-suck-as-a-human-being speech happens at -100, but the romance turn-off happens when you first wade into hostile territory. Same thing for Zev.Lady Jess wrote...

Well thats perfect. I just tried it with lumps of charcoal in an old Caislyn save and it would have worked perfectly for what I originally had in mind. I had figured it would start, get as far as the first time, then go to the tower, Wynne outs her has a blood mage and he'd break it off. And the lines are perfect for that. Of course this means going back to before I picked up Zevran, but that's ok. The tower is pretty quick with skip the fade.
Thanks Gilsa and Sarah:)

Just FYI, if you have good persuade, you can convince them to stay, but once you get to -100 hostile again with them, they throw in the towel for good because you just blew your second chance.

Like tonight Kestrel and he got into a conversation about what changes when the warden's have their joining. He talked about eating everything, Kestrel said she didn't do that, Alistair brings up seeing her "wolf down all that food" and I made her scream at him for perhaps calling her a pig. Hilarity insured and made my night when he went "Oh no, I've never seen a pig eat like that before! (Laughs) Oh, I jest, I jest, don't kill me please!"
Seriously. This has been one of my favorite playthroughs, and I just got started. 8D; Ali, stop making me love you even more. Please, thank you very much. Although I have to say that it's difficult to do a playthrough where you're trying to gently ease into the romance, and only end up triggering it by mistake. >___> Stupid game, I'm trying to wait a bit, to flesh out Kestrel's character...and let him take the wheel...for now.

Ponnie, in my current game, I got him to 100 approval before he even gave me the rose. Turns out that Lothering needed to be destroyed before that could happen. LOOOOOL.
What?
Anyway, I don't plan to really trigger the romance until after The Tower, thus she'll see Goldilocks (What I call Goldanna.) and him really happy and such, thus will be more open and willing to compliment him. (Unless the whole "Has anyone ever told you how handsome you are." disappears after a plot point is completed? D:)

No, that line is a romance starter. If you turn on the romance any other way, that line will disappear. Otherwise you're fine.(Unless the whole "Has anyone ever told you how handsome you are." disappears after a plot point is completed? D:)

What?Whoa, and I thought I was a fangirl. Totally awesome, expect I didn't head to the camp until after Lothering, so well...haha. And I'm trying to make Kestrel more...real considering her storyline in the game. That she doesn't trust humans and she's unwilling to open her heart until she really gets to know her party, especially Alistair, more so. Since I'm sure she still has trouble getting over her finance getting murdered like that. Heck, I still have that wedding ring of hers in my invantory, I just can't bear to sell it...I'm so silly, aren't I?
