Finally I got my ingame avatar to load! I took all the steps and STILL it kept showing my old one. But lo and behold finally it updated
Edit: Looked at DA for recent Alistair art and found this. I thought the manip was nicely done as Alistair blends in well.

Thanks, she is actually rebuilt in the toolset, I tried to keep her as close to the original one as possible for the RP continuation.Gilsa wrote...

new layer, dump black, got it. I can see a change in the metal parts, it's darker but the rest hasn't changed. Unless I'm saving the dds wrong from PS. Which is likely it since I've not used this plugin yet.
My internet died last night and I didn't feel like fighting w/ it so I just went to sleep.
Not all files have a tint file because certain armors in the game can't be tinted by default. At that point if you wanted to be able to do a retint through the Toolset you would have to make your own tint map first. If you're recoloring/retexturing through Photoshop you don't want to have a tint map at all since it will through off your coloration. That's why for recoloring/retexturing work you always want a solid black RGB and Alpha tint file. The exception to that is if you're working on a piece that has flesh in the Alpha layer of the tint any flesh areas have to be solid white.
The 0s is the spectral file. This is general in gray scale in the RGB and Alpha. If the RGB has a huge you might need to turn it to gray scale or it will throw off your recoloring. You can also do a hue/staturation colorization to give it your own hue.
The 0n file is the normal file. This containts any slight textures. For the sake of argument lets say what would appear maybe 2-3" off of the armor. You can remove some textures from here but anything too deep will actually be in the skeletal portion of the armor piece. There's no easy way to change that. (If that particular piece of info is incorrect TMP feel free to step in.)
The 0d is the main texture/color you see on an armor piece. This is the file you would be doing most of your editing on. Personally I suggest working in layers. It's much easier to tweak it later on if you already have everything cut up.
In all honesty I've been told that learning how to just retint through the Toolset is far easier. I don't currently have the patience to learn. For me using Photoshop is easier because I've been using it since for well over 10 yrs.
Here is the link for retint http://social.biowar..._existing_items
Here is a link to Krayzie3's tutorial on retexturing/recoloring armor http://social.biowar...1689/blog/1120/
As for what you're currently trying to do... honest I'm not sure where you're going wrong. I'll try to break down what needs to be done again so, you can retrace your steps.
1) Open up the erf files that are in Addins/(nameofmod) for Armor of the Sten. There might be more than one erf. You want the erf file containing dds files.
2) Either open w/ Photoshop the dds files you want or extract them from the erf to your desktop.
3) You can skip opening up TMP's female version of Duncan's armor's erf files because I already am going to give you the proper naming convention for the override.
4) Go back to your extracted files or Photoshop files. Now you want to save (nameoffile)_0d.dds as pf_bdy_duna.od.dds
5) Repeat this process with the corresponding files.
6) Put your new renamed files into the DA override
Thanks Serissia, I got some effect, but not all. I replied in detail to your message. But thi is what I have now. Darker gloves, straps, and chest but regular textures no change

I need to hop into FO3 and see if I can make an Alistair face. I doubt it, since Bethesda's CC environment is somehow worse than DAs, but this needs to be done.

Creating a character that looks good in either game seems to be a matter of pure accident.luciusleathordt wrote...
@SurelyForth, Much could be said about FO3 character creation, and no, not all of it's good, but at least it isn't TES IV:Oblivion. I still have nightmares about those faces. O_o
At least in FO3 you can hide it well behind Lucky Shades and a helmet.
Or a big floppy hat.

I should be writing my Idun story now, but I'm bored with DA.

I have had a male opinion of the video, and he said some pretty valid points. He mentioned that Alistair looks way too secure in this video. The man doesn't really know what to do, and is usually embarrassed. He mentions an example that I should withdraw his gaze for a moment (in embarrassment). It is true..he does look quite secure..although loving to see the fems body for the first time , all his moves turn out too smooth and sure of himself. What do you think?
I think that would be ok, as long as he didn't look like a bumblind idiot. Though I think the fact that he looks so amazed is a must keep thing, but if you want to add some "newb" to that, maybe just add in some more touches, like a guy would do seeing a naked female for the first time. I'm sure thats about as clear as mud, but I'm sure a firt timer would spend some time grinning and exploring. And it would be quite Alistair-like. Cautious, curious, tender but not "DERP!!"...lol
Like...none of this...

or this...

but more like this...lol
