No? You don't find 'I don't want to romance a wimpy-girly Alistair' and 'if I wanted to romance a girl I would romance Leliana' to be saying exactly that?

Being a girl is bad. Romancing a girl is bad. I've learnt something today.

Ya know looking at her..."maker's breath you're beautiful" and "you're too pretty not to forgive" does kinda prove Love is Blind in this game...lol

THIS YES!!  I like it as is, I dont' want some wimpified girly Alistair to romance, I want the one who asks my PC to the tent and the aftertalk and all the little parts with it.  I don't want some shy girly-man!

Whoa, freakout much?  A quick look away to make sure he's not dreaming is not "girly man."

That said, I like the scene fine just as it is.

I dislike your continued assertion that girls are wimps and that if a man were to act like how you see women then he would be a wimp as well.

many men can be embarrased but I would never ever consider them wimpy for that. They are human, and everyone is entiltled to some weakness as opposed to the "Strong-I'm-confident" facad they have to maintain in society.

Women who want a man who is strong, confident and don't even paus to hesitate as he sweeps her of their feet and does magic in bed really ought to stay away from virgins. Or maybe stop to consider if you are setting your requirements a bit too high.

Well, FYI that wasn't my comment. I'm just saying I don't think it would be appealing to make him look away. And 2, I frequently romance Leliana as a girl.

Calm down, people.  I think what is meant is that most of us here are women, so the reactions we might instinctively consider normal are female ones and not male.

Though I also think the freakout over the suggestion that Alistair might quickly look away is a bit much.  I, at least, interpreted that suggestion as a momentary reality check and not an "I'm afraid to look."

All seems to be a moot discussion, moving along...

Am I saying I want a "throw her down and screw" Alistair....No. But him looking away is not gonna work for me when 1. My PC is a virgin and 2. He asks her to bed.

Heh, virgins make horrid sex partners. By the time you're on top they're already done. This is fantasy though god dammit and my PC wants to get hers too.

I think the difference in opinion is coming from people who already think Alistair is reacting shyly during the first night modded scene.  I don't get confidence from him, I get hesitation and wonder.

If you already think he's reacting shyly and love the scene, that means to change it you would be losing a part you love for some extra hesitation.

I know that wasn't what you were saying and I was only addressing the fact you said that no one was saying it.

*headdesk* NOOOOO!!! omg no!!! I don't want to be romanced by a wimp!!!  If I wanted to be romanced by a girl I would trigger Leliana's romance!!

One sentence says 'I don't not want to romance a wimp' and then next says 'If I wanted to be romanced by a girl' which makes wimp/girl interchangeable in this context which pisses me off. If you (in general, not specifically you, cmessaz) think girls are all automatically wimps then I really don't get why you play a female Warden.

THIS YES!!  I like it as is, I dont' want some wimpified girly Alistair to romance, I want the one who asks my PC to the tent and the aftertalk and all the little parts with it.  I don't want some shy girly-man!

This time it even uses wimpy to describe the state of being a girl. You may not have been saying that but it definitely was being said.

Why are you taking this so serious? Her choice of words was unfortunate but I'm sure she didn't mean it as a general insult to women.

She simply stated that she prefers the hardened version (and how terribly appropriate this term is when discussing the first night). :D

Well this is being blown all out of context. What I wanted to say is this:

I have no issues with women. I have no issues of women who romance women or men who romance women. Its all good to me.

Women are not wimpy.

What I found offensive was to suggest it would be in character that a man would look away from the woman he loves. Period. Thats not a man thing to do. Men are visual (its a proven fact of male biology that looking gets their motor going). It was Out of Character to expect Alistair to be with the woman he loves and suddenly get all shy guy on her. THAT is what I am objecting to, the OOCness of it.

Virginal women might be shy enough to look away. Granted its been many years for me since I was a virgin and I don't recall if I did look away. But a guy, no virgin or not isn't going to. That is more of a girl thing to do not a guy thing.

And once again sorry if I pissed anyone off. it was not my intent.

Please explain to me how I in any way implied to have any intimate knowledge of lesbian relationships? I was only commenting on a quote I saw that said in one sentence that they did not want to romance a wimp and in the next that they did not want to romance a girl like it naturally followed that those two were the same.

And yes, I know it was likely just an unfortunate choice of words but it bothered me so I commented on it, someone said that they didn't understand where I got that from, and therefore I found the quotes I was talking about and explained my issue with it.

Now if I could just pry her OFF Alistair. She is NOT supposed to want him dangit, she's supposed to be using him until Zev comes along.

Maybe you could find some sort of face-covering helm for Alistair so she's not tempted?
