Now if I could just pry her OFF Alistair. She is NOT supposed to want him dangit, she's supposed to be using him until Zev comes along.

Maybe you could find some sort of face-covering helm for Alistair so she's not tempted?

I don't think it would work. He still speaks...

Well this is being blown all out of context. What I wanted to say is this:
I have no issues with women. I have no issues of women who romance women or men who romance women. Its all good to me.
Women are not wimpy.
What I found offensive was to suggest it would be in character that a man would look away from the woman he loves. Period. Thats not a man thing to do. Men are visual (its a proven fact of male biology that looking gets their motor going). It was Out of Character to expect Alistair to be with the woman he loves and suddenly get all shy guy on her. THAT is what I am objecting to, the OOCness of it.
Virginal women might be shy enough to look away. Granted its been many years for me since I was a virgin and I don't recall if I did look away. But a guy, no virgin or not isn't going to. That is more of a girl thing to do not a guy thing.

And once again sorry if I pissed anyone off. it was not my intent.

I figured it probably wasn't but I have issues with semantics in case anyone couldn't already tell and that's already caused quite a few problems.

Why are you taking this so serious? Her choice of words was unfortunate but I'm sure she didn't mean it as a general insult to women.

She simply stated that she prefers the hardened version (and how terribly appropriate this term is when discussing the first night). :D

Off topic, klarabella there is a fic I read on your page that hasn't been updated like in forever, do you know whats up with that? Its something about 2 roads, I can't remember the exact name. I'll go look.

You mean Two roads diverged. I have no idea. I don't know any of the writers on the list (only SurelyForth).
Maybe CJK even abandoned it. It's always a risk when reading incomplete fics.

Edit:
I've already a "new" fic on story alert that covers the politcal marriage thing but it's more gritty and medieval-ish and less 19th century style. Maybe nothing for you as Alistair's Blight romance was Leliana and they broke up so he could marry Warden Cousland. Cousland is a very interesting character, though. She and Alistair are barely friends. Fate and Forbearance

Please explain to me how I in any way implied to have any intimate knowledge of lesbian relationships? I was only commenting on a quote I saw that said in one sentence that they did not want to romance a wimp and in the next that they did not want to romance a girl like it naturally followed that those two were the same.

And yes, I know it was likely just an unfortunate choice of words but it bothered me so I commented on it, someone said that they didn't understand where I got that from, and therefore I found the quotes I was talking about and explained my issue with it.

I generally just roll my eyes at w/e asinine sh!t storm you've kicked up yet again in the thread.  I don't believe for one second that you don't intentionally try to pick fights.  You come across as the very definition of antagonistic.  Additionally you frequently present your personal beliefs as fact instead of opinion.

Not everyone is exceptionally articulate.  I myself am guilty of being one of these people.  I have perhaps a 6th grade education level at best when it comes to English, spelling and grammar.  Though, I find easy enough to wade through any typos, Engrish, etc to see the point that is trying to be put across.

Romancing a woman is far different from romancing a man irl.  I've been a switch hitter since I was 12 yrs old and I've dated many women and men since then.  There are certain nuances between men and women that seem to be almost instinctual.  Men are very visual.  There was a study some years ago on men and women and how they masturbate.  While women are able to basically picture everything in their head men need visual aids.  I could go on and on but it would be futile.  My point is that regardless of how it was said the meaning was quite clear.

Well you would be wrong then. I don't want to start fights or deliberately get provocative although given the recent problems that have started from my posts I've well-aware that they often come off like that. I have also been told that I present my opinions as facts but saying 'so I think that' or 'this isn't fact but my opinion' before stating something that is clearly an opinion is highly unnecessary. Annoying, perhaps, but unless you aren't familiar with the subject material then it shouldn't be misleading. It's like when people say that Isolde and Teagan were having an affair without feeling the need to preface it by saying 'I feel based on how the pair interacted that Isolde and Teagan were having an affair.' Unless you haven't gotten that far or feel you've somehow missed a letter/conversation explicitly stating this then you're going to understand that it's an opinion. I do try to remember to preface my opinions with the appropriate 'THIS IS JUST AN OPINION' words but clearly I don't always remember to.

Still, if I just have one post saying 'I don't like that word usage' and other people jump on that and start defending it then you can't place the blame solely on me. Other people - including yourself - are free to read it, go 'that's nice', and resuming whatever it was that you were talking about.

All of you should be aware that communication via internet is really tricky. Without gestures, the tone of voice and facial expressions misunderstandings are common.

If you are not sure what someone means, ask. If you are offended by something others don't seem to mind, close the window, get something to drink, go for a walk and come back. It's very likely no offense was meant.

At least this is something I learnt some time ago. ^_^

Edit: Sticking things with the pointy end. Oh, look at his face!

You can't truly expect to hide behind that excuse after just jumping on someone for the same reason though.

I've found that a lot of people use the almost absolute veil of anonymity that the internet offers to start arguments that have ultimately no consequences.  You can ****** people off online all day and night w/o true worry of them say, stabbing you in the face.  You can take that statement however you wish to.

I generally try to stay out of the opinion based debates.  It's a futile and pointless gesture.  What's the point in trying to change someone's mind about something so insignificant as a video game?  That's generally what the conversations end up boiling down to.

Ok. Since the subject for a heated debate seems to be how a somewhat shy young man would act the first time he had sex and I remember those days still, I might venture to offer my two cents.

My take on it would be that such a man would not hesitate or look away the first time he saw the woman nude. I doubt it very much. As a guy, if you feel awkward or shy, your hesitation would show in how you act. Maybe hesitate before reaching out and touching, especially touching her intimately, being afraid for somehow doing it "wrong" and that sort of thing.

So nervous about doing something wrong sure, but maybe not nervous about looking at her.

Does that make sense to any of you?

It does. I would have said the same. Men are not women, we act differently. It's as simple as that.

I'm glad DahliaLynn puts so much thought behind her project and asked for opinions on this. :)

Eye textures anyone!? No toolset required, just drop it into your override folde and it replaces the default texture.

tmp7704 wrote...

Whoa whoa whoa. Sort of getting back to the subject of eye textures, this was just posted on the nexus:

http://www.dragonage...ile.php?id=1367

replacement for the default eye texture, so by the looks of it should work with the default tints
