Well you would be wrong then. I don't want to start fights or deliberately get provocative although given the recent problems that have started from my posts I've well-aware that they often come off like that. I have also been told that I present my opinions as facts but saying 'so I think that' or 'this isn't fact but my opinion' before stating something that is clearly an opinion is highly unnecessary. Annoying, perhaps, but unless you aren't familiar with the subject material then it shouldn't be misleading. It's like when people say that Isolde and Teagan were having an affair without feeling the need to preface it by saying 'I feel based on how the pair interacted that Isolde and Teagan were having an affair.' Unless you haven't gotten that far or feel you've somehow missed a letter/conversation explicitly stating this then you're going to understand that it's an opinion. I do try to remember to preface my opinions with the appropriate 'THIS IS JUST AN OPINION' words but clearly I don't always remember to.

Still, if I just have one post saying 'I don't like that word usage' and other people jump on that and start defending it then you can't place the blame solely on me. Other people - including yourself - are free to read it, go 'that's nice', and resuming whatever it was that you were talking about.

You can't truly expect to hide behind that excuse after just jumping on someone for the same reason though.

I've found that a lot of people use the almost absolute veil of anonymity that the internet offers to start arguments that have ultimately no consequences.  You can ****** people off online all day and night w/o true worry of them say, stabbing you in the face.  You can take that statement however you wish to.

I generally try to stay out of the opinion based debates.  It's a futile and pointless gesture.  What's the point in trying to change someone's mind about something so insignificant as a video game?  That's generally what the conversations end up boiling down to.

I don't ever try to change people's minds. I don't think that would ever end up working. And excuse am I trying to hide behind. I am not ignorant of the fact I could have also decided not to comment on whatever it was that bothered me but I made a choice to do so and every other person - including you - who got involved from that point also made a choice to comment on what she said or what I said.

I could go off and find a really biting rant about how much someone thought Alistair sucked as a character and repost it here and while that would be provocative and I would realize that it would almost certainly start something I would not be forcing anyone to respond.

Someone phrased something poorly and I commented on that. That is all. Someone else chose to ask me about it and so I chose to elaborate, other people chose to point out that that wasn't what she meant, she herself chose to agree that that wasn't what she meant, and you chose to have a non-sequitor response (imo, of course, as it's not a fact) and then when I chose to ask for clarification, you chose to yell at me about my choices to comment on semantics issues that I have. No one is being forced to do anything and the only choices that I can really be held responsible for are mine. I can't 'start something' alone, you know, and I am under no illusion that getting into an argument about semantics is important in the slightest. Hell, I don't feel any argument about anything that has or will ever occur in this thread is really all that important.

Ok. Since the subject for a heated debate seems to be how a somewhat shy young man would act the first time he had sex and I remember those days still, I might venture to offer my two cents.

My take on it would be that such a man would not hesitate or look away the first time he saw the woman nude. I doubt it very much. As a guy, if you feel awkward or shy, your hesitation would show in how you act. Maybe hesitate before reaching out and touching, especially touching her intimately, being afraid for somehow doing it "wrong" and that sort of thing.

So nervous about doing something wrong sure, but maybe not nervous about looking at her.

Does that make sense to any of you?

OMG Xander as always an excellent post!!  It makes excellent sense and explains much better than I did what I watned to say. Why can't I write like this ?Posted Image

I'm pretty sure my point just flew over your head. Either you're incapable of grasping what I'm trying to say or I'm incapable of expressing what I'm trying to say in an adequately articulate manner. Thus this is turning out to be as futile as I figured it would be when I originally decided to initiate this conversation.

On an unrelated note. The first night scene is fine the way it is. Trying to please everyone is impossible.

This, exactly!

And I love the scene Dahlia has created, because it really shows this. It's so perfect, just how it is.

Okay, then tell me if I'm taking this wrong. You said that you didn't like how I kept picking fights over stupid word choices, I said I understood what she meant but only wanted to mention that if you don't read between the lines it comes off really bad, you said you don't believe I'm not trying to pick a fight because it keeps happening and apparently I write very aggressively, I insisted I'm not trying to start fights and if no one else wants to have a fight they should stop responding to seemingly-provocative posts as they aren't obligated to do so any more than I am. And internet arguments are always pointless.

I think it does please everyone.  :wizard:  The suggestion from the guy was probably not a "you should" so much as a "what if."

On an entirely different note, does anyone know a good freckles mod?  The ones I see on Nexus seem to be a bit too much.  Also a lot of them make the freckles very uniform which looks unnatural to me.  But I wouldn't mind a little sprinkle on the nose or something.

It does. I would have said the same. Men are not women, we act differently. It's as simple as that.

I'm glad DahliaLynn puts so much thought behind her project and asked for opinions on this. :)

 I just "want it to be right"

Thanks for the input Xandur,,,if anything ,. a man would know best. It's just that it was a man who made the initial comment abut the hesitation of a virgin.

I think it was the "other things" that freaked me out about that mod.  It looks like some people want their PCs to have skin diseases or something.  LOL

Edit:  Hold up... how did you get your PC to be wearing the usual amulet chain but Alistair's got chest hair a la Natural Bodies?!

I don't like you.  Granted I don't know you well but I'm not a particularly charitable individual and I tend to not give people the benifit of the doubt.  This time it might of been over the choice of words used by another but that isn't always the case.  You continually pick fights for whatever reason.  Don't bother trying to explain, the whole concept is utterly beyond my ability to grasp.  To make a shockingly unPC metaphor to get my point across, arguing over the internet is like winning the Special Olympics.

Yes, people aren't obligated to respond but unfortunately they do.  I generally just roll my eyes and find something else to busy myself with.  The reason I happened to repsond to this is I found your counter argument completely asinine regarding Leliana, Alistair and the differences between men and women.  Admittedly the person could of phrased their statement with more finesse but it is what it is.  The underlying meaning was correct.  Men and women are quite different when it comes to romance, love and even sex.  That is statistically factual.

You can remove any of that, the readme is REALLY easy to understand. I don't know PCs much but this was really easy to do, just drop in th eoveride.  I removed the dalish ones (cause I like them) but my duaghter liked the face paints and so I kept those for Human/city elves.  Its really easy and the frekcles are cute.

@Addai

There's two skin textures w/ freckles up on my project here.  They're not as customizable as the tattoo freckles but this is one of the ways you can use tattoos w/ them.
