You might be right about that.    But it's on Alistair's mind even before the LM, if you talk to him about the future and tell him you're not sure you have a future.

Yeah, that's how I see it happening too.  Since my canon PC is also Dalish, I figure Eamon has also been working on her as well.

I have a little bit of fic written with Eamon being his usual trying to be kind but ends up being jerky self about heirs and Alistair being king and Maric and Katriel....  <_<

poor kid.  I can never leave him unhardened.  He just is so damaged that way...Much happier I think that he learns to stand up for himself.  Since I was doing a "marry Anora" game on my last play, I left him unhardeend till after teh Landsmeet and BOY was he glad I took the bullet for him instead.  LOL Eamon that chickensh*t had NOTHING to say about it when i got to Redcliffe afterward.

She was in a romance with him, yes.  At around 80 Adore.  He responds very nicely to you saying "I care about you."  I can make a video if you like.

I left him unhardened just to go back and camp and hear the "you're a good friend and... I love you" line.  You get that in the follow-up talk when he's at Love.  It's sweet, but not sweet enough to leave him unhardened.  Reload!

Haha, yeah, I agree with that entirely.  I usually save just before Goldanna, get the sweet "and....I love you" line, reload, and then harden the boy.

I think it's kind of surprising that he will still say "The only one who ever cared about me was Duncan" when he's in a relationship, but that's his insecurities coming out again, not really believing that anyone really would care about him, not really, especially after his only living family just blew him off.  He needs the PC to reaffirm that she really does care about him.

I'm trying to finish up the 1st character I ever started - HNM, befor I knew about hardening.  Al just said to him, " I just want to thank you for talking me down after that visit to Goldana's".  It was like, "NOOOOOOOO, don't listen to what I said 8 mos ago!"  This PC will have to bite the bullet and marry Anora - but its OK, he's kind of a mimbo, and it suits him.  I just went back to Redcliff with them, and almost the whole town is dead.

Yes, I think he fully expects that he's going to lose the PC one way or another, and that he doesn't really deserve her.

@LadyJess:  You were looking for an armor similar to Pious without the Chantry symbols.  I noticed this set in Projects.  It's not as pretty and is rogue-oriented, but is similar style.

Maybe it's because the only origin I have played as of yet was a cousland..but, I have never seen Alistair talk like that...? I love you? and "you have others that care about you?...sorry how could i have missed all that?

Ok, I'm officially down to Three rogues and a re-finishing mage. Jaina didn't make the cut. I wish there was a mod that made Alistair see you as a guy for characters not romancing him. That would make it so much easier.

Thats right after Goldanna, on any origin romancing him. But only if you don't harden him (you have others that care about you, you don't need her is the line). Then he'll say the i love you bit in the conversation after that.

People might have seen this banter back when ejoslin first restored it, but I had to lol anyway.  Poor Alistair.  The ironic thing is that Zevran has never really "wooed", either, not for himself, not for keeps.  His own wooing technique has some of the same awkward sweetness that Alistair's has, though different style and subject matter of course.  And Alistair does wooing exceptionally well anyway.  Even if by accident.

LOL I love this banter...and I'm so glad it got restored.  I was surprised that there wasn't an Alistair asking Zev how to woo someone banter when I played at first, given that he asks Leliana and Wynne.  So I wrote one myself.  It didn't turn out well for Alistair either.
