QUESTION!

How do you guys see the PC and Alistair acting (especially toward each other) after the DR?

Very awkward.  She's guilty for feeling like she made him do it, he's guilty because he feels like he cheated on her, they're both kind of mad at Morrigan but guilty because she's helping them.  At the same time they're mad at each other (her at him for agreeing, him at her for convincing him to do it), all while not being really sure that the ritual's going to work and afraid that they're still going to lose the other to the archdemon.

On top of all that - they just broke up but are still in love!  :wizard:  So yeah.  AWKWARD.

I think the biggest question I have, for mod research, is do you see your pc and Alistair comforting each other afterwards? Or avoiding each other?

In my head, she runs out after they leave, Alistair thinks about seeing her afterwards, passes the door to find it ajar and her not there, finds her outside, and they just kind of hold each other.  So yes, in a way.

Comforting?  It's not like Morrigan raped him or something

I imagine there are worse things to spend the night doing than wading through her swamp.

Comforting for some PCs. I think the HNF PCs would go for comforting, whereas the Dalish and CE being a bit more snarky and avoidance.

It depends if they're still in the relationship or not of course. If they're not in the relationship - avoidance all the way. If they are... well I think they'd both be trying to work through it and the only way they could do that would be by talking about it or pretending it never happened..

Hey Axe! I mean for the warden who is in love with him. Not just friends or something. If thats the case then they both just go take a hot bath and move on.

Yes holding n comforting each other as their going to sleep.  I can definitely see that happening.  In fact that prob be best that way were not both sittin/laying in seperate rooms running this in our minds n resenting each other even more for it.  Instead if their laying together they can talk about it or if neither wants to then just taking comfort with one another.

I would see it as comforting, but like I said before I kinda see my PC totally trashed from her decision

But if you want to be romantic you could have the PC sitting or sleeping on Alistair's bed waiting for him, Alistair then comes in if she is sitting, PC will jump up and hug Alistair tightly, or if the PC is sleeping Alistair will slowly walk up and pet PC's hair causing her to wake up and look at Alistair then they can either hug or kiss...

Why would he need comforting?  He's the one that just slept with another (ridiculously hot) woman.  He should be reassuring the PC.

Because the only reason he did it was to save their lives? It's not like he wanted to do it, and for a person like Alistair he's not just going to be like "LOL YAY I GET TO F*CK MORRIGAN WEE" even if he's not in love with the PC.

Because he really doesn't want to do it, because he might know he's creating an old God baby (which makes him extremely uncomfortable), because sex means something to him and he hates Morrigan, and because he would probably rather be with the woman he loves on the last night before Sh!t Goes Down, For Real.

.
Um I seriously don't think that's the case if he's IN LOVE with the PC.  He doesn't want anyone else but the PC if he's in love, he says it to her in a conversation.  N he WOULD NOT OF slept with Morrigan if PC hadn't asked him too.  So the guys being forced to do something he doesn't want to do, depending on how you put it to him n if he's IN LOVE or not.

Oh I know he hates her, but I can't imagine sex with Morrigan being so traumatic he would need consoling afterwards.  He's a consenting adult after all, and Morrigan is... well,  Morrigan.  In the one (and only) game where I made him do it he seemed fine afterwards.  If I was in his shoes I'd be more concerned about the warden's feelings towards the whole ordeal personally.

It think it's complicated and depends entirely on how you RP your PC and Alistair.  Let's go with my HNF.

She sort of freaked out when she found out about the whole 'One of us gets to die to kill the archdemon!"  Not really happy about that.  When Morrigan offered the ritual, refusing wasn't really an option for her.  She's selfish like that.  Part of her knows it's probably a bad idea, and she really doesn't care.

In regards to Alistair, she feels guilty because she knows he isn't going to want to do it, but will if she asks.  That's actually a tremendous amount of power to have over someone, and she's using to to help them, but still....  She will feel guilty because it's asking Alistair to be something he's not.

As far as after the DR, she is very concerned as to his mental and emotional state.  She's hoping he won't hold it against her.  For his part, I don't think Alistair would.  I think he would need some time to work through his conflicting emotions about it, especially with the child aspect.  I think there would be a lot of comforting, ie just holding and whatnot.  It's not really something you can discuss your way through and diving right back into sex would probably be weird for them.

I think that it really depends on the mind set of the player answering the question.  How they view the DR personally.  I myself see it almost as rape.  Yes, Alistair does consent but he's obviously apprehensive about the situation.  This is especially so, if the PC told him that a child will be conceived from the dalliance.

If all Alistair cared about was getting his d!ck wet w/ a hot chick he wouldn't turn down the PC's initial offers of sex.  Alistair is a hopeless romantic.  He goes as far to say to the PC that he had hopes that she would be the only women he ever slept with.  For Alistair sex and love are intertwined.

Additionally I hear swamp crabs are nasty little buggers.  Poor, poor Alistair.

Mine would be comforting him, and taking him to her room

A: there's no way they know 100% that they'll survive the battle to GET to the arch demon, so ritual or NOT there's still a chance they could die, and this could be their last moments together alone and alive.

B: The ritual was a physical thing. A thing my PC asked him to do, that he ONLY agreed to because he loves her. There's no way in hell she'd be mad at him for doing it.  She'd be feeling bad about it, and possibly be annoyed with morrigan for lack of warning. But not any more than that.

C. Referring to A and B they would make sure their last memory of each other would be them together. There's no way on earth they spend the rest of that last night not making love.

What?!  How?  Morrigan doesn't want to sleep with Alistair any more than he does with her.  She's offering her body up to save both your lives just like he is.  Granted she gets the god baby out of it, but she's not forcing the situation on anyone.

But the thing is, it's not just sex. He's making a bastard child and will not be there for it as well. In his mind he's pretty much doing exactly what his father did, the very thing that makes Alistair the insecure person he is, because he wants to save your life. He's doing it because you asked him to, and in some cases he may outright refuse if you tell him the truth. It's not just sex with a hot woman to save all your lives, but sex and making a bastard kid, especially when he values family and all that so highly.

He  hates her, and for Alistair, sex is very much connected to love - even if he likes the fem PC and thinks she's amazing and beautiful he's not willing to join her in her tent until his affection level is high enough.

Having to be with Morrigan would be torture for him, especially if he's in love with another woman.  He'll tell fem Warden that he hopes she's his first and last lover, ever - he never wants to be with anyone other than the woman he loves.

As I said before, I think he feels like he's betraying his lover, even though he's doing it to save her.  He needs reassurance just as much as she does, that she's not going to hate him for being with another woman.

In addition, there's the whole god-child thing if he knows about it - he is very very unsure about creating a bastard child that may or may not be an enormous threat to the country he loves in the future.

I think that is something that would hit closer to home as the years passed for him.  It's Alistair.  He's not going to just forget what he did, and that he did the same damn thing his father did.  While he never comes out and says it, I think he harbors more than a little resentment towards Maric for that.  That he would turn around and do the very same thing...

He really didn't seem so terribly affected by it in my game.  He asked Morri a few questions and then dove in.  She does promise that the child won't be his burden and will be well taken care of after all.
