Yes, he can.  That does not mean he will feel great, or even okay, about it.  Or that he can just sweep his emotions under the rug.  Look at everything you've seen from Alistair throughout the game.  Does anythign about him strike you as taking this lightly?

No, I agree he takes the matter very seriously.  Although after reading about the conversation where you talk him into it here, I was expecting a lot more resistance than he actually gave.  I didn't have any problem convincing him, and I even told him about the baby.    I just don't see him falling to pieces over it.

Out of curiousity, have you rp'd a character that loved him?  Not just slept with him, but totally played up the whole romance angle?

I did with my CEF.  but it was admittedly sort of half-assed.  I had to romance Leliana on the side to help get over that 3rd treaty hump -_-  (I've lost more chars there than I care to admit).

Would he feel dirty?  Maybe.  I really don't see Alistair as some kind of victim here though.  He doesn't want to do it, neither does Morrigan.  Both see there are bigger things at stake (for Morri, the baby/ for Alistair saving his own life and the life of his love).  Both consent for the sake of something greater than that one (hopefully brief) moment of intimacy.

He's a grown man.  I mean he can make his own decisions, right?

Having sex with someone because you have to doesn't make it any less repulsive regardless of the incentive.  Morrigan is far better equipped to handle the situation because of the way Flemeth raised her.  Morrigan knows what is expected of her.  She also knows how to and is fully willing to use her body to get that which she desires.  Alistair on the other hand has very little sexual experience.  His views on love and sex might not be practical or realistic but they are what they are.

This is how I see it.  Yes, he agrees to do it but that doesn't mean he actually wants to do it.  He's doing it to save the life of his lover not himself.  He knows that if it comes down to it that one of you will be taking the final blow.  He fully intends for that person to be himself but he has no way to guarantee that he will be able to do that.  He knows that he might die before reaching the AD.

I'm not saying that Alistair would be scared of life.  I'm saying that I believe that he wouldn't want to see the PC after sleeping with Morrigan.

Hahaha!  Domestic-violence-Alistair?  That's a new twist :D

I agree, the PC shouldn't be angry with him at all.  He makes it very clear how he feels.  I could see it creating some insecurity in a femPC down the road though, and maybe resentment in Alistair too... unless they have a really  honest and open relationship where they can talk about all their feelings from that night.

I partially agree. I see it as something that comes flying out of her mouth in a fit of indignation or rage. Kasha did it in my fic when he confronted her about Nate. Saying "Did I EVER question you after that night with Morrigan? No!".

Well thats a sh*tty thing to do to him considering it was your PC who talked him into it in the first place.  But I can see it as something someone might bring up in a heated fight moment, not really meant but said anyway, one of those stupid things people say to each other.  I dont' think it makes her bad, just flawed and more 'human'.  Esp if she is being confronted by him about an affair (real or imagined).

You think so?  Out of guilt?  Or something else?

Also: completely off topic, what is up with those Cous Cous sigs?

Guilt?  Anger?  Fear?  Just because the PC asked him to, he's not sure how she's going to react.  He feels guilty to some extent I would think.  Angry because he was asked to do something he really doesn't agree with.

Also relief?  He knows now that he and the woman he loves have a chance.

Edit:  The Cous Cous are because we can.  ^_^  Also, the eyes look awesome~!  And the tiara~!

You think he wouldn't want to spend at least some time with the PC in their last night before the final battle.  Morrigan's ritual does give them hope, but nothing is certain after all.  It's not even guaranteed that your warden will live to meet the Arch Demon.

I would think he'd want to be near her, if not for himself then at least to set her mind at ease.

Heat of the moment.  She had just come back to the palace, after the architect, the mother, saving Amaranthine, not seeing him for god only knows how long...at least 6 months of the first year they were married. She gets home, expecting to have a reunion filled with joy and happiness and smiles and he accuses her of f***ing Nathaniel the MINUTE he gets her alone.  Low blow? yep, and so was the accusation. Does she feel awful about it later? hell yeah she will. Or maybe, just MAYBE it stems from the guilt she feels STILL for ever asking him to do it.

(I'm approaching their marriage based on what I see alot of with Ken's soldiers. They get married, they expect rainbows and puppies, and they don't understand it's a learning process. The wedding is easy, marriage is learned.

Edit...quoting for context

"I have been fighting monsters, the likes of which you have never seen. Things that make the blight and arch  demon look like a children's puppet show in the market district. I did it all, while half of my heart was here in your hands. When I finally return, you've heard a rumor and suddenly, I'm an untrustworthy cheating ****? And what of you? Have I ever questioned you? We both know how I survived that arch demon don'twe? We know what you did with Morrigan. Yet never did I doubt you."

After I have to sleep with someone I don't want to, I generally just want to take a bath and be left alone.  I'm not sure if I can articulate properly the myriad of feelings associated with it.  The feeling of exhaustion and simply not wanting to deal with people in general be it a trusted friend or love one.

I suppose Alistair might feel some guilt if he's been told about the conception of the child.  Beyond that though I think it would be a lot of different feelings amongst them emptiness and dirtiness.

In two of my fics the DR was denied.  Alistair and the PC spent their last night together.  The next day she died in one and he died in the other.  (I'm an equal opportunity killer of characters)Posted Image

I said they would spend time together.  But not sex.  I think some major, major cuddle time is called for.

You make that sound like a regular occurance.

I think Alistair's view on sex is vastly different from both yours and mine however.

Truly the only person that knows Alistair's mind is his creator being a fictional character.  The point of this debate was to see if there was interest for a possible either alteration to Alistair/Morrigan DR scene or possible sexy time w/ the PC afterwards.

You know, it seems like there has been a major lack of NBA lately...

I admit, I have been keeping Alistair in thane helmet but mostly clothed.  *hangs head*

My action screenshots suck in comparison to others anyway, so I lack the proper incentive.

I know, I know... NBA is his own reward, but...

I think the biggest question I have, for mod research, is do you see your pc and Alistair comforting each other afterwards? Or avoiding each other?

Put me down for comforting, please.

Yeah, he was encouraging players to let BW know that we wanted Alistair back.

It would be a horrible shame if we could continue our Wardens and not have Alistair.

Comforting for some PCs. I think the HNF PCs would go for comforting, whereas the Dalish and CE being a bit more snarky and avoidance.

What?!  Why?  He's only doing it if you put him up to it.

My PC may be too ashamed of herself to look at him, but that's a whole 'nother story.  This is if they're in a relationship, of course.
