Actually hardened...I got the feeling we were gonna have a good ole beheading Anora party after the Blight.  That "We'll see" said with a curled lip...yea  gives me the shivers but in a GOOD way cause I would LOVE it if she doesn't recant and swear the oath and we get to kill the B*tch.

I still can't believe how much the game rouses all sorts of emotions from the players. It's quite amazing, isn't it?

You know, I don't think he would execute her.  I think after the Archdemon is defeated, he'll have to look at it objectively.  There isn't really any benefit to killing her.  The way I play it in my fics, which is how I would rp it out, she's kept in the tower for a bit, and then sent back to Gwaren, where she's watched like a friggin hawk.  Alistair needs stability in that teynir, and Anora is not stupid.  She retains her title of Teyrna, power as the 3rd highest noble in Ferelden, and owes her life to Alistair and my HNF.  Killing her won't win Alistair any points with the Landsmeet, probably the opposite for a lot of them.  She has been stripped of her royal power publicly, which would make it more difficult for her to rebel later.

Edit:  Great writing and character portrayal always rouses emotion.  It's why I sob like a baby in Return of the King when Elrond is there to give Arwen to Aragorn at his coronation.  I've tried to explain it to my students.  At that moment, Elrond is giving her up FOREVER.  He will never see her again, not even in death.  It's so heartbreaking, and you can see it in his face.  I cannot handle it when I see that.  *weeps*

shoot it was hard enough on me to make her let him live and keep Loghain long enough to hear what he had to say in camp. Bastard actually got all smug when I told him he cost me Alistair. Damn camp felt so empty without him. I immediately got done satisfying my curiousity and then reloaded and let Alistair duel him so he would do that "Grab the throne bit" he does...and forgot I was on my HN...so after the lopping of head I got to say I we would rule together.

I don't think the convo is firing right. I just watched it on you tube and the pc was his lover, but alistair didn't say what he's supposed to according to the toolset. Now if you'll excuse me I must go hug my pillow and cry.

You know, I don't remember it going down the way the toolset says it does when I played through the scene. I don't remember Anora ever mentioning execution in my playthrough... but my head was a mess at that time so I might just be remembering things wrong. Once I muster enough courage, I'll go over the whole thing again to check.

I'd download a "Slap Loghain" mod. Better yet I would download a "Shove a dagger into Loghain's face" mod too. I find one death not enough for him. I want to ask Wynne to rez him so I can do it again and again.

BUT first remove Anora from the room. It really bothers me he gets killed right in front of her. She's a **** and willing to throw him under a bus but no child should have to see the parent they loved killed. There is enough of Bryce's pup left in my PC at that point for me to feel that way still.

Something along those lines, I wanted to decaptitate Loghain's head right there. Only reason I kept him alive was to get all of the endings achievement.

sylvan: Given my druthers, I'd have rather executed Loghain in private. Growing up idolizing the guy as the Hero of River Dane who fought with my dad, that was tough. But I knew it wasn't an option. *sighs* The events demanded that we show Alistair would be king with every ounce of force we had.

Also, was I the only upset when we woke up in the prison and Alistair was way over in the corner? He should have been cradling me in his arms, damnit. I had to speak to him very firmly about that after.

And, yes, I know *I* am not my pc, but it's too damn tough to keep keep saying that. Since I rp so heavily, I am just going to say I/me from now on. I'm not insane and thinking this is actually happening to me.

The little exchange isn't my idea, I read that somewhere and almost fell off my chair laughing.

The PC makes a couple of faces in Awakening! And they aren't all Alistair related: there's a few WTF-faces, some self-righteous-determination faces and at least one totally awesome skeptical-face.

Also, thank you for link A Midwinter's Thaw. It is excellent, although it makes my own brief write-up of a similar scenario seem terribly hackneyed. 

Now that I think about it, the PC really doesnt make that many faces as they do in Origins.

Only one I can really remember is burning down Amaranthine, with a face of what...sadness, but knowing I had to do it face?

The best face in the entire game is when the PC first meets Morrigan. And they give her that glare. haha.

Well, consider the few things Loghain heard from Alastair, if that would be the only thing to base my opinions on I would have to agree.

Most things he says is along these lines:
AL: "This isn't just about the kingship. I guess I always knew I didn't deserve to be happy. I just...didn't expect you to agree. Especially in front of all of Ferelden."

And he then ran off to become an alcoholic/become executed.

Mmmm, indeed.  I like to remember that I'm wearing steel shod boots.  Howe is wearing leatehr armor.  *whistles*
