Alistair, post-coronation... and/or Alistair gush thread (Origins/Awakening Spoilers)

I always make it a point to give the gifts in camp, so the way I RP it is that Alistair described the amulet in more detail than the dialogue provides, and that the PC remembers it from there. And knowing it's Eamon's desk, the PC put two and two together, and decided to give it back to Alistair since it was his in the first place.
Though that does sound a little juvenile, doesn't it? Just taking stuff from Eamon's desk. xD

I have a question... How do people generally give Alistair his mother's amulet from a roleplay standpoint? I find it a little weird to just take it out of Eamon's desk. Oh hello, let me just root through here and help myself...
I've been holding out on it because I was trying not to get his approval too high, but now that he's at 100 that's not an issue and I think I'll save it for after we finish the Ashes quest. I wonder if Eamon would give it to him then. I guess that would assume, however, that Eamon intended to give it back to him.
I suppose that if you give it to him right when you find it, you could also roleplay that you and Alistair find it together, that he sees it and recognizes it.
I never give it to Alistair to up my approval. I usually give it to him after he's seen his sister, something to ease that nasty woman's vileness. It just seems that at moment's like that he could really use a comfort zone whether he's hardened or not and I usually do it when were in camp unless I haven't initiated the tent scene first. It be a little awkward to give him the amulet after we do the deed lmao.

Depends on the character really. My city elf was a rogue so it was pretty natural for her to check out if rich shems don't have something shiny they'd surely want to part with. My human noble on the other hand, well i knew the amulet was there but she didn't and being no petty thief she never looked in there. So Alistair just ended up without it in that particular playthrough.Addai67 wrote...

I can't not loot. It is impossible. Even my most wholesome, innocent characters have the stickiest fingers. I mean, there are ~sparkles~. I need anything that sparkles. So that is definitely metagaming. I draw the RP line at the spot where I can't fill my invisible backpack with other people's things, especially when I know they add to the plot. :innocent:
And with that, goodnight guys!

I have the sparkles and other UI nuisance like plot flags turned off, that probably helps.yukidama wrote...

I have to catch up, I see. 13 pages again. *groans*
Oh, and look what was smiling at me when I checked my mailbox this morning, a nice little Anders/Alistair/Cousland threesome fic (AMWT universe) plus fanart, terribly NSFW.
Just in case there's still someone out there who hasn't already been hooked. :innocent:
Edit: And anyone who's writing stuff about the wandering drunk ending. GIVE IT TO ME! I NEED MY FIX!

Maybe you could ask Lady Olivia? She had the cutscenes fixed, so his eyes were closed.cmessaz wrote...
Ok, for some reason the flags that ejoslin set are preventing the lines from showing up. I might have to make it so he thinks he is king again to get it to work. I will keep looking at it. There is obviously a way to fix it. As far as that creepy eye open thing, I need to find someone who can edit the cutscene and close em. Cuz yeah that is freaky.yukidama wrote...
Gave it a try without any of the mods installed and got all the options again. The "crazy" line led to the kiss but it was really creepy because his eyes stay open D: I think that was one of ADP's fixes if I remember the list correctly.
BTW, which file are you running?

What I thought was cute though was when he asked me if I have anywhere that I consider home, and I responded with:
PC: I guess my home is with the Grey Wardens now. With you.
Alistair: It is? I... didn't know you felt that way.
The way he said that, the shock and surprise you can hear in his voice, I thought it was adorable.
I really want to turn the romance on but so far the only option for that is the handsome comment, and that's getting old. Unless the lamppost convo is a romance starter because I do have that option.

Yeah, on my last playthrough I said the "with you" line without the romance started. So sweet.Thor Rand Al wrote...

The lamppost convo starts the romance when you get to the "you think I'm beautiful" part, I believe.

PC:You think I'm beautiful?
Alistair: I... did I say beautiful? Do you... have any particular opinion on my saying that?
PC: I might like hearing it. From you.
Alistair: Then I'll have to think of something more provocative next time, won't I?
Alistair: Until then, we should get under way, no? I've many tearful nights in my tent to contemplate, after all.
And the whole freaking time he's got a certain tone in his voice while saying that and my mind couldn't help but go back to that damn story. Lmao.
Thanks klarabella, I didn't even know they had that out lmao. Definitely made for an interesting read *clears throat*. But I definitely have to put in a warning, don't have the lamppost conversation after reading that lmao.

Ostagar works fine and hey, you fixed the hanging-out-in-Morriland bug at the end of the tent scenes. There's a bit of a weird blue-mountain-outline cut but at least he's back where he should be. My PCs would start to worry if he was hanging around Morrigan's tent too much. LOLcmessaz wrote...

I have updated twice since this morning! I put info on what got fixed on the page.
I posted a little note on the group, but the only thing I noticed not working was Charsen's EF gates kiss. Zevran's proper in-love dialogue triggers, but no kiss. Oh, and ejoslin fixed Zevran's Friendly gates dialogue, too! Yay! My HNF would be so happy to hear him say the bit about the Black City.
AH HAH! I thought he said something different. I swear if I weren't so hung up on Ali I would romance Zevran but Alistair won my heart first! Zevran makes a wonderful BFF though!

Not sure what you need help with, but the whole conversation/goodbye thing that happens at the gates is in the party_events dialogue file, it's fairly straightforward -- Alistair's branch is under "if Alistair is still present" condition, and judging by the comments the kiss was to be attached after the "Then I won't say anything." line. And after "Now go kill it. And come back safely. Or I'll be very cross with you." (maybe some other places too, i didn't check all)cmessaz wrote...
Me either! The kisses aren't even included like they are supposed to be at the denerim gates. I am trying to remedy that.
The "if: global_event..." thing you see after it and all over the place is just equivalent of "end conversation" in regular dialogues. The purpose of it is to go to top of this particular branch, so the game can trigger dialogue with another follower in the queue (they will speak in order their branches are listed)

He looks really good in Silver and Gold. I also like him in WC armor. He usually wears that till just before the Landsmeet for me then I do RtO so he can kick Loghain's ass in Cailan's armor. I like that the last sight Loghain sees before going to his Maker is Alistair in Cailan's armor using Maric's sword and totally wiping the floor with him.

Damn, I have DA Redesigned but can't get the eyes to work on Alistair. Don't know why, maybe because he's already modded. I need to fix the headmorph I'm using.
When you go to install DA Resigned, there should be the option of adding them separately.
