I have a question.....how do we know Wynne wasn't recruited?? She was there, (in the market I think?) fighting. How do we know she wasn't following Alistair along the whole time?

Her entry suggests she didn't join until Alistair's call for help from the circle.  Supposedly she came to Denerim with the Templars for the final battle.

But, she didn't join us until our call for help from the circle.  I'm assuming the call for help is when you go to the tower, and ask for their help.

Wynne's codex entry says "Wynne was a senior enchanter of Ferelden's Circle of Magi, and one of the few humans who were lucky enough to survive the Battle of Ostragar. When Alistair called for allies against the Blight, she volunteered to march to Denerim, nagging her templar traveling companions the whole way."

Ser Perth's codex entry said this "Ser Perth was a knight in the service of Arl Eamon of Redcliffe. He was sent on a quest for the legendary Urn of Scared Ashes, but found no success" but then again he didn't succeed in the game, either.

But, she didn't join us until our call for help from the circle.  I'm assuming the call for help is when you go to the tower, and ask for their help.

Well that's what you do in the game, too, but the allies don't follow you around and congregate at Redcliffe instead.

I think it probably would have ended better with anyone but Alistair at the helm.  I mean the more I think about it, it's not really that hard to believe.  He relies on the PC for pretty much all of his development in DAO.  Without that, well...

What?  I'm not bashing him, just saying Alistair, more than almost any other NPC, relies on the PC for guidance and development.  You can turn him into a courageous king, or let him run away from his responsibilities and stay a big kid at heart... but both are decided by his interactions with the PC.  Without him/her there, Leliana is the closest one to him.  Which side do you think she's going to encourage? 

Unhardened Alistair vs Morrigan?  Not a chance.  Hence some of the very Morrigan-esque choices showing up in his army selection.

The PC has incredible influence over many of the NPCs.  Morrigan's ability to have a friend or even a lover she cares about is as much of a tectonic shift as Alistair's hardening.  And there's nothing that says that the hardening process (which I really hate anyway... a stupid game convention, if you ask me) could not have happened in another way.

Anyway, whatever... I refuse to treat the DLC as anything but a joke.  There are no "choices" to speak of.

Lol, the people who said that were commenting because of the thumbnail. But then again, it is a commission. The person could have requested genderswapped Zevran with Alistair :innocent: But it's not Zevran, just a PC who could be his long lost sister.
