You're tall, too?  Damn.  You are srsly turning out to be awesome on all fronts, aren't you?

My thoughts exactly.

I also have trouble playing dwarves and elves because of the height thing. If the HF's were built like the DF's, only tall, I'd be in heaven.

My character that I have lined up for the Morrigan romance is a dwarf. I'm wondering how that's going to work out, 'cause my characters never go like I planned...

I did male Brosca and Morrigan romance. While my game was a complete cluster (I took it too far and picked all the evil choices "just to see" -- only Sten and Loghain were left at the coronation), I actually enjoyed the romance more than I thought I would. They both seemed to connect on a primal level -- Morrigan grew up in the Wilds away from civilization and is a social outcast. Brosca was an outcast as well -- he was underground and isolated from the rest of Orzammar. They're both very pragmatic. I didn't think Morrigan would have an issue with him being a dwarf because she's used to human male templars chasing her down. The dwarf would be a refreshing change of pace. And while I knew she was going to leave no matter what so I wasn't upset about it, I was able to portray my Brosca as understanding that business is business and Morrigan had a job to do. He was still going to hunt her down though. If Morrigan does come back in a sequel, definitely going to fire him up and see where that takes him.

Yes I've always rolled elves in medieval-type fantasy, and to a lesser extent noble human types.  I know others have said they usually play a warrior human type.  So I guess you do find a niche where you feel most comfortable.  Dwarf theme was not my favorite in Tolkien settings either.  I love that it's there, just don't enjoy having it as my character's story.

I'm 5'7" myself, but what attracts me to the dwarves are their personalities and their cultures. I love how brash and opinonated they are. They love their vices -- ales and women. They're sarcastic and they get into the thick of things. They're macho and love crafting things with their bare hands. They like going into a bar and getting rowdy and having a great time. It's just the dwarven attitude that attracts me. I am a huge fan of Bea Arthur -- she would totally be a dwarf. Jane Lynch from Glee -- that's a dwarf. Carla from Cheers -- dwarf.

That's good to know. Posted Image  I haven't done the Morrigan romance, and the dwarf I rolled is a noble, so I don't know how or if they'll connect. It'll be an adventure!

They do everything from herding sheep to search&rescue work as well as protection, obedience, therapy work, and skijoring.  One thing about these dogs is their need to work, and they still get creative and get into trouble!

What breed is it?

I just did it again...started Awakenings and stopped shortly after Alistair.  I don't know if I'll ever finish it ever again.

I've only finished it once, but I usually get as far as picking up the last companion.  I just really didn't like the end with the Architect and Mother.  It felt rushed or something.  I kept wanting to make the Architect as cool and diabolical/ noble as he was in The Calling and then... I got to kill him?!  That was so anti-climactic.

The breed is called Belgian Sheepdog in the USA, but Groenendael variety of Belgian Shepherd everywhere else.  They are a riot, but if you don't have the time to work them 7 days a week, they are diabolical! lol

As far as Awakenings is concerned, I really don't like the companions very much (even though I wanted to).  All their nasty-edged comments wears me down after a while.  A couple of them had the potential to be fun, but 'fun' never seems to materialize imo.

Another subject....I just backed up my Documents folder, which I do at least every month.  Lol, I almost died laughing seeing my screenshots:  68.4 GB, 12,761 Files, 35 Folders   (1 folder for each game).  Omg, I'm still laughing!

OK, I *did* say that I would spam with dwarf screenshots!

Starting with my recent noble with Alistair romance! In this game, she crowned her brother Bhelen and put her boyfriend Alistair on the throne so she could be his chancellor. That way she can coordinate between the two kingdoms and get Alistair to send human troops to help out the dwarven empire in the Deep Roads.

As a dwarf noble, I really liked having Alistair being my second in Proving. First, because it feels like he's backing me up in my hometown and second, I like to think of it as my dwarf helping him learn about the political intrigues of the dwarven court, which will be necessary for him to know when he becomes Ferelden's king.

Bownammar -- I really enjoy the Deep Roads so much. There's so much history and lore to uncover while exploring the areas her ancestors have once walked in.
Posted Image

This would have been so much better if Alistair didn't have that derp face from being hit by an arrow. They both leaped for an ogre kill at the same time. First time that happened in any of my games and it's totally a wasted moment. =p

Trust meeee! =p

So it looks like we could hit 2000 pages this weekend.  How are we going to celebrate?

If DahliaLynn gets an EF first night scene done, and tmp gets dwarf tent scenes done, Alistair might be able to celebrate with an orgy.  Posted ImagePosted Image

These shots are awesome. I freaking love the Deep Roads and Orzammar. I acutally didn't like dwarves as a fantasy race until DAO.. My mind has been changed.

I knew it had to be a herding dog.  I grew up with a bearded collie, which is an Australian cow dog, but I think herding dogs all have similar personalities.

Now I'm verklemmt!  It's just like I said, dogs make me weepy.  I think it is because of my "boo boos."  He was such a sweet dog and I had him all during my growing up years.  I spent my junior h.s. year abroad and my mom said he always ran to the passenger side of the car when she pulled in because he was looking for me.

*reaches for tissue*

*hugs Alistair and Dog*

I didn't feel connected to any of them.  It's why I can't squee over the male NPCs, even though I think Nathaniel is a cutie.  I'm impressed that SurelyForth, for instance, was moved enough by Awakening to write a great story based on it.

I can't actually have a second when it comes to Wojech right now because he's just so belittling even if you're not the DN but if you ARE...I've got to load up a Harrowmont King game so I can go kill him in the rebellion.

Know who else would be dwarves? These guys from American Choppers. They have the gruffness and attitude down pat.

And, I softened up my city elf's face a bit and ditched the red hair. I kinda pictured her after the conscription, while she spent the last moments with Shianni, strapping on her mother's black leather, tucking poisons in secret pouches, and strategically sheathing daggers amid the straps and buckles and boots. All the while ready to kick darkspawn ass and swearing her vengeance upon Vaughn Kendalls upon her return from the battle. For Shianni and Nelaros (or in her case Nelaron.

Why does she need vengeance against him? Isn't he dead?

Right, yeah dead, forgot. Meh, then the whole danged castle needs purged...or something. Or I can just trash the whole character. At the rate I'm going I'm not actually playing anyhow.
