Well, in order to really be reliable you'd have to have been pregnant yourself but the fact that it's not actually possible for you to be pregnant means you're probably not as concerned with it happening to you since, well, it won't.KnightofPhoenix wrote...

What's so awesome about the pain of hours-long labor, not being able to move around as you get further along, crazy moodswings, constantly having to go to the bathroom, random cravings, having everyone (even people you barely know) insist on feeling your stomach, needing weeks to recuperate, gaining weight like crazy that you have to really work to get rid of, having to put up with kicks at odd hours that could keep you up at night, and chronic nausea?
That you are giving birth to a human being, namely your son / daughter. I would think that is awesome.
And well....no pain no gain
Oh so I have to be a girl to know that being pregnant means you are giving birth to your offspring that I would think you would love immensely?
Anyways, as interesting as this is, I guess I shouldn't intrude, being a guy and all.

There are plenty of circles around here where you just aren't a true Texan if you don't like country music. But I've never met anyone who was hung up on the 80s thing.
Oh, I bet. It's also generally considered the "it's not going to offend anyone" music, so you hear it a lot. Unless you are vacationing in San Antonio, where Tex-Mex music is more common.

You are just a bit misinformed Sarah. I have done it twice. Most people have no trouble moving around, the moodswings aren't ALWAys bad, I didn't have any at all in fact, either time. The constant going to the bathroom isn't as horrible as it gets made to sound and doesn't happen til late pregnancy when the baby is weighing on the bladder, noone touched my stomach, or anyone elses I know, it takes 2 weeks after to really rest, and maybe a few more weeks to hit full recovery, depending on your fitness level before and during. That also impacts the weight gain and loss. I had my kids, poof weight gone. My friend who lives with her ass on the couch eating junk, never lost it.
You can't judge by the horror stories you see and read online, or see in movies . Some people hardly gain weight at all. We have a cousin that delivered a baby before she even knew she WAS pregnant. Twice! I gained 30 pounds with my first and 15 with my second.
But having my daughters was one of the best things I've ever done. And you forget any trouble you went through the first time they look you in the eye and squeeze your finger, smile, giggle, walk...
Very true. Not to mention childbirth is not like what you see on television at all if you aren't dumb and actually prepare to give birth....or get an ipidural
The going to the bathroom thing wasn't bad for me at all. The only thing was that when I woke up in the morning, I had to go to the bathroom before getting ready for the day and all that.

That's how I feel about hip hop, to be honest. I usually leave my car radio on a hip hop station because I tune it out. I tend to listen to any other music too closely to concentrate on driving and I can't drive in silence.

Not necessary
Sometimes I like to talk about stuff I know little about, just because I like arguing. I should stop that lol
Besides, in the presence of kitties, I am never upset!

I actually hate children who aren't related to me. Seriously, I can't babysit other children because they make me see red very easily. I don't even like other babies, they kind of make me want to puke my brains out. But my baby and the rest of the little ones in my family are safe from my children-hate. But I'm weird like that.

I can't really explain the joys of being a parent. It's like trying to describe the rainbow to a colorblind person. You just take all the difficult stuff in stride. I used to love the smell of my son's dirty diapers. Crazy, I know, but there it is. I remember reading an interview with Gwen Stefani talking about how she loved her baby's milk breath and would inhale deeply. I definitely identified with her!
The worst thing about being pregnant was really the social aspect -- people wanting to touch my belly or people being backseat drivers when it came to baby advice. It's like winning the lottery -- everyone wants to share in the wealth while telling you how to invest your money. They want to know how your money has grown and demand more pictures of Ben Franklin to put in their wallets!

Sarah -- I just had a conservative doctor for the most part and that's why I was in the hospital for as long as I was. (Two days while in labor and three days before they released me.) The upside was that while I was an overwhelmed first time mother, the nurses were FABULOUS. I met so many on different shifts and they all came in with wonderful advice on soothing the baby or nursing or whatever. If I had a natural childbirth, I probably would have gone home the next day and fumbled about on my own. And the miracle of it is that we forget how difficult childbirth was and start longing to have another child. It's how nature works! =p

I know there was a time that I did *not* want to ever have kids. But life changes and I changed my mind. I'll get around to it eventually, when the time is right (or whenever it's meant to be, heh).

Ha, luckily I'm rude enough to people who ****** me off, so the people that knew me knew not to touch me. Of course, I had people ask to feel my stomach but it was a lot less than my step-mother got when she was pregnant. I've perfected the "touch me and die" look.
But at the same time, other people absolutely love me because I'm oh so sweet and blah blah, so I got a lot of "how are you? do you want my seat? do you need anything?" which is not nearly so bad:lol:
