Anders is saying "I don't know why she makes me wear this. My nipples are freezing off."
Just why is it Alistair only smiles for you, hm? I'm going to start calling this his "I'd rather be with Brand" face.
His nipples are covered! Technically!
And I'm going to call that Idun's "That's because you haven't read Undertow" face.

That's the magical disappearing nipple effect. I mean, in reality his nipples would have to be showing.yukidama wrote...
But his nipples are pretty much the only thing covered up in that outfit!

Damn, I need me some decaps! Playing S&S is so slow and boring, I wanted to make it more interesting with an axe but I haven't gotten any decaps yet ;_;
I've had them with dual axes, dual daggers, dual swords. But with a shield they are few and far between.

Idun will have to slip a copy onto his bedroll. In red letters scrawled across the top, "just be glad you ended up with the nice maleficar!"

Not to be derogatory, but a guy will bang anything that moves, right? A girl can be the same way. There's the added bonus of rubbing it into Gheyna's face that her boyfriend is now a maaaaan. (There are so many ways to break the news to her.) Gheyna will slap Cammen and Cammen will protest, "But I did it for you!" If Zevran is in the party, he'll throw his head back and laugh and wonder why he had not thought of that line to use himself.Axekix wrote...
But it's Cammen... is that really something to be proud of?tmp7704 wrote...
The "I banged a Dalish elf" achievement? (game world achievement, not game mechanics one)Axekix wrote...
Well, from a storyline perspective... why would any character, ever, try to get in Cammen's pants? What's the motivation? I don't see it.
It's like setting off a firecracker and watching the results.

Umm... no. Most guys have some standards. Granted, alcohol can lower them a bit.Gilsa wrote...

Ok, that sounds funny. But, ugh... sleeping with Cammen to get it is... uuuugh. I can't think of a female equivalent cause I don't think there is one in DAO. He just seems so unappealing in every possible way. There's the added bonus of rubbing it into Gheyna's face that her boyfriend is now a maaaaan. (There are so many ways to break the news to her.) Would imagine for some there can be sort of sense of competition here, to set things off. "What, he wants that elf? I'll show him what it's like to be with a real woman, let's see if he ever looks at her again after that."Gilsa wrote...

Wow, that is some phenominally bad timing. Just how immediately are we talking? You just killed your brother and got your vengeance so is that really the best time for a 'I have a crush on you' confession?Lady Jess wrote...

Errr it's not JUST an "i have a crush on you" confession at that point. He's telling you that he appreciates you. That he sees you have had it pretty friggin rough since you became a warden and gives you the rose to say beauty can exist even in darkness and despair.

You know...that is just nitpicking the words I used. I could have said 'is that really the best time to have the rose conversation' and that would have been the main part of what I was asking, not what he is trying to get across or what he means by the conversation.Lady Jess wrote...

I just think it's too soon for it if it's directly after Bhelen dies but I know it's just game mechanics and if Alistair were real he would have waited.

You asked if it was the right time for him to admit a crush. I corrected you, that isn't what he is doing.
What BETTER time to say "Wow, you have really had a ****ty time of it since you joined. I want you to know you're appreciated"
Yes, perfect time to do it. And it's not game mechanics, it's approval level, and whether you've killed Lothering, and whether you've activated the romance yet.
I'd much rather be told that after he's heard how I've been treated, what exactly happened to me, and seen what my "family" was first hand.

I think I may have to respec into a DW at this point. S&S is too damn boring and I want my decaps. The Aeducan shield is not worth this trauma! I give Alistair the Cousland shield after I romance him, he can have the Aeducan one too.
LOL yeah he's got Serena's too. She's a rogue, shields are pretty useless for her.

I reckon it's hard to feel bad about it when you go out of the building and have group of Bhelen's supporters with phenomenally bad timing try to ambush you there, and then on the way out you get the "epic fail" line from the crierSarah1281 wrote...

The reason I said crush is because the romance is not very far along when you can get it (some people aren't even aware they're in a romance when it happense) and you only get it if he has a thing for you. Your life sucks just as much at that point regardless of whether he is attracted to you. He mentions that you're beautiful which indicates he's at least attracted to you and if you don't feel that at that point when he's just interested that it's a crush then so be it. It really doesn't matter.Lady Jess wrote...

Since you were happy Bhelen was dead then it might not bother you that he's doing a romantic moment so soon after you just killed your little brother and I know that since I wasn't happy that it came to that I would have probably bitten anyone who tried to talk to me then's head off.

Though I do get a sense of satisfaction swinging around a ginormous shield, even though it looks like she's about to go sledding on it. But it's too slow and boring, just not for me at all.

Is this a more common practice than I thought (giving family special items [HN & DN] to romance companions)? I do the same thing TBH
