I love Anora; she reminds me of Orzammar politics.

I didn't see it on my DNF last time, I guess I was at the point where it was just so familiar I glossed right over it. But If Serena could be grinning right now, she would be.  She's been set up enough to know to trust her gut. And she can smell an ambush for political gain (ahem...NOW) . Maybe It's "Reflection" helping...lol

So which origin do you think lends itself most easily to excessive niceness? I want to do a one-shot where Morrigan's approval gets to hostile and she wants to leave simply because the Warden is being too much of a goody-goody and losing approval with her that way but I can't decide who to pick.

Is this something you're working on and you plan to release?

Nope, it's just a dress.  I made an override for the default dress that IA spawns on the hnf.  I just thought the screen shot was amusing so, I decided to share.

I suppose I could toss the override up on my Misc Files project if anyone is interested.  It requires IA to be installed though.

None of them just off the bat would I think.  Each one has had some hardening in their lives (some more than others). I think it would have to fall on how you would roleplay your PC.

It looks very nice, but I don't use IA, so that's a no from me, but maybe there are others interested. If you'll ever release it as a standalone, then yes, of course. :)

With a mage you can go any direction, and you don't have any particular rage issues driving you.  But I think this is probably not going to get you very far in terms of pissing Morrigan off.  I always play good/noble characters and always have her at 100 by the time I finish her personal quest.  You have to tell her things like you won't kill Flemeth or you're keeping the grimoire for yourself and insult her a lot.  Not exactly a "niceness" kind of thing.

I think the human noble would work the best. It can fit in the role of a knight in shining armour, doing all the right things. (by that I mean to include the Lady Cousland as well)

Eh, I think that's the wrong question tbh.  Morrigan doesn't dislike "niceness" really.  She disapproves of things that waste your time/resources unnecessarily or make you look weak and/or foolish.

I guess a better way of putting it is to really drive Morrigan away you'd want to play up your naivety.  As for which origin is better for that... erm, I'd probably say a mage.  They seem to be the most sheltered at least.

Well, not for an actual play-through, no, because your companions are really easy to make all love you no matter how you RP but for fanfiction it's another story.

By 'niceness' I did, of course, mean taking the time to help other people which is a nice thing to do but also takes time that she's convinced we don't have and doesn't really get you much in return. She does lose approval with that a lot.

But as has been said, it's not "niceness" that angers morrigan. I's what she sees as wastes of time, but there just aren't enough to drive her away. She's like anyone else, driving her away requires being hateful and ****y to her.  She's not exactly a heartless shrew.

Ah, I see.  I don't see Morrigan as being against doing "good" things, though, she is just very utilitarian.  In a sense she represents the Duncan of the group- the one who will always tell you to do what you must.  She doesn't have as much experience, obviously, so sometimes her advice isn't good.  That's how I see her character, anyway.

Yes, but not simply because the PC is being nice.  More so because she feels it's a waste of your time and offers little benefit to you or your cause.  I mean you win her over by being nice to her after all.

You're focusing too much on the word I used. The situation was Morrigan constantly losing approval due to the PC stopping to solve the problems of everyone they come across, not objecting to just being nice.

Initially I though of a mage too, but I still think the knight would work the best. You know, kinda the fairytale knight, who would take the box from the Wilds to get it to Jeta, who would give a lot of money to people in need, and especially to pretty girls like Bella and Kaitlyn, the knight would respect the authority  of the Chantry without being religious, who would make the biggest donation in Lothering to help the others, etc... Of these kind of things is Morrigan disapproving. And the fairytale knight has a better motivation to do all this than a naive mage.

:)

Hmm... A wise mage would probably work also...

Not really.  The point I'm making is if you're writing a character that will clash with Morrigan to the point that she leaves, simply being nice wouldn't do it (if you're concerned about accurately characterizing her).

You'd need to be naive, extremely idealistic, and very judgmental towards her and her opinions.  None of those are synonymous with nice.  Basically make your character act like Alistair and she'll hate him/her in no time!

I did the Anora betrayal with dog and it was indeed Hilarious. Not to mention every time Salroka snarled Eamon looked down at him thoughtfully before looking back to Anora. Then I had oghren and the dog come rescue us just to see how that went, it was pretty funny letting dog do the talking. Until the female guard then you're scrwed...lol

But I went back, and decided for ONCE by god I was going to fight Cauthrien. With no healer. Me, Alistair, Salroka, and Oghren. By the end, I was out of firebombs, Alistair and Oghren were down while I was picking off mages and archers. dog was tanking Cauthrien when I killed the last archer and I got to take the last several hits...
