Well, if you're willing to bend what the game shows to suit the RP, then it can be just as well used to pretend Loghain isn't getting executed in front of his daughter but taken outside for that, thus removing the whole trauma excuse to save his sorry ass...KnightofPhoenix wrote...
I am pretty sure there was an option to say that she can't kill him because she feels its wrong.
Sure, we can't say it in detail, but for RPing purposes, it works.
Otherwise, I could claim that all those who hardened Alistair are anti-social a-holes because it's scripted that way.

Alistair: I'm actually wearing robes, so you don't have to be on My Junk Duty right now.
Ron: And Morrigan likes me, so you don't have to throw yourself between us every time she casts a spell.

Yay! *snuggles* Ron, you must be so relieved that Alistair put clothes back on.

I don't know. Maybe I expect him to understand that my poor Cousland girl is not going to murder a father right in front of his daughter, because she experienced the same thing. An anger blinding him from this, is not really appealing or sexy to my unnamed female Cousland sweetheart.
That right there, is the best motivation for sparing Loghain as a female Cousland that I can think of. Mine didn't do it. But in her neverfinished fic carried the guilt of doing that very thing with her. Til she met Loghain in the fade;)
My other one did. But not for that reason. Actually she did it because the person playing her had NO CLUE what was going to happen...lol but I gave her a story after. Revenge for supporting Howe. Make the SoB a warden, dammit...he survived the joining. Well, ok death to the Arch Demon is too good for him, go do the ritual. Now, stay at the gates while I go do my thing. Arch Demon dead, Loghain in charge of recruiting, and ending up in Orlais...now THAT is revenge. As Wesley said to Prince Humperdink...To The Pain.

Then you epect too much of him. The Landsmeet is scripted in a certain way. A sudden concern for Anora's well-being is not working as intended. You simply can't roleplay this way unless you let your Warden take the blame for being strangely tongue-tied and completely unable to communicate her intentions, which makes the situation as much her failure as Alistair's. She sucked as a leader and as a lover at this point.
Bla bla bla...
I am pretty sure there was an option to say that she can't kill him because she feels its wrong.

There wasn't really an option if I remember right. Everything happens so fast at the landsmeet though, there's no time to talk. There's no time to remind him that you can't do this to another woman, kill her father in front of her. And it's not really expecting too much that the man that has claimed his undying love for you, would remember your father died in front of YOU. and put two and two together. But, heat of the moment...it's probably something he thinks of later and wants to kick himself for.

That didn't happen, actually. You left before he died. Oh yes, he is severely injured and says he won't make it but you don't have to watch. Plus, you're a warrior/rogue/mage anyway, you have watched people die at your hands over and over.Lady Jess wrote...

Depending on what background you want to assume a strong pacifist streak can be rather odd. I prefer to assume a medieval background which means: Executions are common and people like to watch, an amusing event for the whole family. And if a family member is to be executed you will want to be there and pray for them.
I would expect the Queen to be present at her father's execution.
Edit: To make this very clear. I don't believe in capital punishment, we don't have it in Germany and I'm glad we don't because I value life highly. But my Warden is not me.

I agree with Klarabella here. Ferelden is not exactly pacifistic. And Anora has no qualms at all to execute Alistair who could very well be your LI in the game and not for "crimes" but for being a thread.klarabella wrote...

Watching people die at your hands isn't the same as watching a loved parent dying in front of you. Bryce may have still be breathing when the HNF leaves but you still sit there with him while he's bleeding to death. That to me, is one of those "wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy" moments. And that would include Anora. It's not really a pacifist streak to me, it's just something my PC hates doing to another woman, another daughter. At that point you can RP it two ways. You can either spare Loghain based on it, or pass the sword to Alistair. Or, even do what my Kasha did. Do it yourself to let Alistair start his rule without blood on HIS hands, but feel guilt for a long time over it. I actually came very close to doing the US with her, but in the end I couldn't...lol

No, I agree...it's actually the one time I respect the woman. Of course shortly after while still splattered she gets all snark snark, victorious grin at Alistair gimme gimme again, and I want to smack her.

To Lady Jess (or anyone else who might know) What is the name of the mod that lets you put on the nice lipstick color in the toolset? Is it at Nexus?
Dracomies, and it's part of Dragon Age Redesigned on Nexus, but you can install just that part.
