I did, then lulzed at her ganguro girl look. White lipstick? Why not give her white eyshadow too and complete the look?

Yeah... Bioware must use the random button in the toolset a lot. <_<

So I wonder what happened to Adaia.  I mean a CE PC would probably be a teen by then, but they never get to meet her.

I'm doubting it's really the CE mom. You can hear Vaughn beating a woman in a room. So you know it's not far from when the Origins happen. And you don't know your Mom as a CE, as she dies when you are REALLY young.

I actually agreed. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Except for the estate but that was more "Omg not this place AGAIN???" I swear it's cursed...rofl,

But it did give me new insight, and in ways I didn't expect. I know I'll never harden her again as a result. I expected to understand her more, and I definitely did. BUT I did NOT expect to find my current PC suspicious of her. But...I actually am a little now. Not that it's a BAD way, but still it's there.

Yeah, the DLC doesn't really match up with her story in origins. It does make you wonder just how honest is she being with your warden.  Was she lying in Origins?  Is she lying in the DLC (and who is she telling the DLC story to for that matter)?

All the main points are there though.  I do wish they had included a bit more about her reformation into a chantry sister since the change felt really sudden, but I suppose a sudden change isn't so hard to believe given what she went through.
Also, did anyone else fan-****** out when you met Adaia? :?

It matched up ok to me. And I'm trying not to be spoilerific here. But I wonder more at her true purpose at the Chantry now. I love Tug and Sketch too. i'd LOVE to see Sketch show up some day. He was adorable.

She's supposedly killed by humans during one of the riots when the PC was still young. Depending on how you're willing to stretch the timeline and characters' ages, the player's CE could be anything between 5-15 when that happens. Or even older.

Well this DLC is only a few years before DAO right?  I mean Leli was at the chantry for 2 years before we meet her according to what she says in Origins.  So the CE definitely couldn't be 5.

Given that the CE rogue learned his/her skills from the mother, you can't have been THAT young when she died.  I was assuming the mother's death had only taken place a few years before the events of the game.  One thing that always irked me is when Alistair is weeping and wailing about Duncan and asks you if you have ever felt a similar loss, you aren't able to say, "Yeah, my mother was killed by humans."  Instead you get to say something like "The alienage was full of death" yawn.

I'm also wondering a little bit now if it's possible that Adaia isn't actually dead.  Maybe she was kidnapped/imprisoned by the old Arl and everyone assumed she was dead.  Or she escaped but is in hiding to avoid being re-imprisoned.  It's odd to include her as a cameo in a game that takes place shortly before DAO when they do talk about her like she'd been dead a while - unless they intend to use her again?

Well all the main points were there, but in Origins she tells you she found the papers on a mark she was after and she was caught by the Orlesians and tortured as a traitor.  Obviously the DLC has a different take on things.  *shrug*

Tug was awesome though.  I seriously wish I could replace Oghren with that guy!  Awakenings would have been 10x better

Oh hell, you're right. Ignore my last comment. You even get to comment on how she died in your chat with Cyrion, so as a CE you do know when she died and it doesn't seem to be that long ago. I always assume my wardens are around 19-20 at the start, so two years is still a decent amount of time, and you would still have been considered a child.

I fully believe there have been veiled hints scattered in with Awakening and now LS.

Yeah that's what I was thinking too. Although it looks like they put literally zero effort into her face morph so... maybe it was just a 1 shot.

Did you see DG's comments on the inconsistencies in the other thread?

Edit: Nm, it got mentioned. Sometimes I respond as I catch up on a few pages worth. =p

Yeah I realized my goof but you typed faster:P

And it was still a mark that she discovered the papers "on" I think maybe she only told us what she felt we needed to know. She found the papers, went to Marjolaine about them, and was betrayed.

Oh and I liked Silas too. Dear lord bring him into the game!

One of companions comments Vaughn sounds he's "likely to grow up into something really special" or something to that effect so that can be interpreted he's a teenage spoiled rotten child of the noble at this point.

The timeline doesn't mesh perfectly and not in the least because the player is left quite a leeway in how they envision the background of their CE. Probably easiest to try to track it based on Leliana's age -- she's ~25-28 during the Origins and when Leliana's Song happens i'd guesstimate her to be between 18-20-odd at the most. So it may be period of just a few years but it can be as much as 10. When you deal with Marjolaine during the Origins you get a comment from Leliana how she's spent "years" in the Chantry without any specific numbers.

Yeah I screwed up...lol

Actually I thought Leliana said she spent two years in the chantry, so the timeline fits better than I thought. With Vaughn being maybe 18ish in LS, and CE's starting around 20ish in the origin.

Well, in this banter between Leli and Zev she says she was with the cloister for "just over 2 years." (starts at 0:55)

@Axekix -- aww, thanks! I have a nice picture or two of him. I'll post them in the dwarf thread. He was my favorite character in the DLC. I liked his wiseass comments and how honorable he was despite his profession.

Haha same here!  I love that guy!  I really wish he was a companion in Origins.

You know, after playing LS, Leli's breakup comment about her being used to disappointment cuts deep.  I don't think I'll be able to dump her anymore...

You know, I have never left her alive in any playthrough.  My char is always really good friends with Leliana by then, and it is clear this b!tch is crazy and never going to stop hunting my friend.  So...  *stabs*

Well, if you arranged the CE's background with the idea her mother trained her and the character is ~20 then yes it can match. On the other hand if you picked options which implied you never got this kind of training and/or your mother died while you're still very young... then it can also match, but requires some stretch here and there (plus things like being fortunate enough to miss out on the two years comment, or deciding just because Leliana says it's been two years doesn't need to mean she's telling absolute truth there. etc)

I can't dump Leliana.  My last HNM runthrough I avoided talking to her after landsmeet (*was going for prince ending) and she stayed his love.  Odd part of that game was I accidentally triggered a bug that triggerred Alistair's romance (I got to see his jealousy line/kiss for the first time as I was in an active Leliana romance), AND somehow RETRIGGERED Morrigan's after getting Anora out of Howe's estate.
Weird but very very fun game.Posted Image

That is by far the best character!

She's never lived in my games. I'm always like, Kill her! Kill her now!

I usually killed her mainly so she'd leave Leliana alone and for the shallow reason of wanting her noble dress, even though I never actually wore it, but this time it's revenge-driven for what happened to someone-not-Leliana.

Edit: WTF was with that awful pink lipstick Marjolaine wore? I didn't realize the flashback was set in the 70s.
