Alistair, post-coronation... and/or Alistair gush thread (Origins/Awakening Spoilers)

Yes, I can't help it, I'm attached to my character/character. Actually, my personal cannon character is a human mage (see profile picture) that made Alistair king and got dumped by him (I'm a sucker for tragedy). I would personally love to have Alistair along as a companion in DAO2 with that backstory - IF it was addressed (I would hate to have just 'friendly' dailogues with him, as though nothing had happened). I can see a whole lot of drama happening there...
Though, I highly doubt it will happen (oh, well, that's what fanfic is for).

Where's Syl, so I can have someone to squee with??!!
My Teagan sense was being overwhelmed last night by actually playing the game Sabreene. Sorry you had to hold the squee torch alone last night. Damn I love this scene. Something to be said for a man his age doing backflips with such ease even if his dancing has a case of "Jazz Hands".
For DA2, I'm not going to get my hopes up and speculate what it might be about after they dropped the ball with the LI in Awakenings. At least I will hope that "King Alistair" will make an appearance if its our Warden's story like he did in Awakenings. I will wait and see if today's 'reveal' will have any teasers/information I can get excited about. I for one, would love to see a return of old friends/companions but I guess it would depend on what kind of contract Bioware/EA has with the actors?
More Alistair pics, my girl got to the confrontation in Denerim with Manny, Mo and Jack and wanted a piece of Howe's hide she could nail to her wall yesterday. Of course Loghain wasn't going to oblige her. Alistair wasn't too thrilled at the near future prospects either.

She made sure to give him some extra special attention later that day...

And usually I get this question out of the way earlier in the game so it will disappear from the roster of 'to talk about stuff' but I didn't talk as much in camp this game as I usually do. So I didn't ask him for templar training till I got to Eamon's estate.

And yes, ever since I got the toolset figured out as far as making morphs *FINALLY* I have been going nuts morphing everyone in the game. Thanks to Cmess my Alistair can finally sport the GW Tattoo I've been seeing others have on him. I changed eyes, hair style (not color) and gave him some scruff. Otherwise his face is the same as far as structure goes. Don't know why but that last pic just makes me giggle. He looks a little goofy in an adorable way

Catching up: YAY SANDI!!!!! I knew all that freaking out was over nothing. I'm glad you went out to dinner to celebrate instead of playing DA.....you'll have plenty of time for DA playing. Now go take some screenies!!
Sequel? I'm guessing it will be as much of a sequel as KOTOR2 was. There may be references to characters we already know, maybe even some cameos. But for the most part, it will be a whole new story/characters.

Quoted from Game Informer: "Dragon Age II is a full-fledged sequel, featuring a new hero, a
different part of the world, and a ton of surprising improvements that
will shed even more light on the lore of the Dragon Age universe."
So it seems no Warden returning, no Ferelden. As a Morrigan fanboy (and Alistair fan) I am not too happy.
Here is the cover:

So it looks like we're not our Warden anymore but some dastardly evil dude is killing darkspawn still.....*facepalm* Ugh....

And teams up with Hawkgirl.

As much of an Alistair fan I am, that was truly to be expected. The Warden's arc seemed kind of closed in the end of Awakening, same for Alistair, leaving something opened, but not much. It's not a surprise at all that a sequel takes place in a slightly different time and space - we do not want to dry Ferelden, do we? But worry not, my dear fans, the game is being *written by the same team*. So they just have the obligation of writing equally alluring characters - no pressure at all!

There's no surprise, really, that there's no visible connection with DA:O. I guess we'll have to say goodbye to Alistair for DA2...

Thanks Mel, and everyone else who congratulated me! I took a few, but then my screens decided to stop taking - people had that problem too, yes? Was there a fix other than to install Fraps?
Duncan got to be awesome though.

You could try to change the key used for screenshots. It did the trick for me.Sandtigress wrote...

I'll give that a go! I'll try giving Fraps a try, but I don't want to spend the funds to buy a full version just yet, and I'd rather take caps in jpg than bmp, but maybe they'll come out looking okay. Thanks for the suggestion!

I think you're right. There are no more origins, but the only survivor could actually be the demon baby. Yay to daddy Alistair!yukidama wrote...

I changed mine to the "~" key, since my hand is always up there anyway for the power tray. Makes for easy pic taking access!!

I know there's a multitude of reasons why Alistair probably won't be appearing in the 'sequel' but it doesn't mean I have to like it.
