Ugh, if this is true, what a huge pain in the ass Ferelden turned out to be, all for nothing. Posted Image

I'm hoping for a prequel.

Thing is, they really messed up by offering multiple races/origins in DAO and then taking it away for the sequel.

DAMN DA2...it killed the thread...*grabs paddles* CLEAR!!!

ZZZZZAAPPPPTT!!

Alistair is not gonna be in it! :(

That just means that Alistair needs as much loving as he can get right now!

Sadly, I think this news may have murdered Origins for me.

cmessaz, I hope you don't stop playing!  It was your mod that perked up my interest in the game again for me!  I might not be playing now, if it wasn't for you!

They did say that they haven't finished with Origins yet and earlier it was hinted at that more companion dlc's might be coming out.

Speaking of mods ... there's even a mod that makes sex with Cullen available.  I sure wish someone would make a Teagan mod.

Wow.  There is so much hullabaloo over on the DA2 Forum.  Priestly made an excellent post, which I feel should be required reading before posting over there.
geez!

Morrigan is not Hawke's mother (so Alistair is not a daddy either):

Sounds very appealing to me. The idea is growing more and more on me.

I vote for Hawke being the name of the first Grey Warden who defeated the Blight.  Is it actually confirmed that this is post-Blight, or just after the devestation of a Blight?

Now that the initial shock is wearing off, I'm more open to it. I'd rather know NOW that my wardens are on hiatus (who knows, they may return yet...keeping my saves just in case), than find out at the last minute, like they dod with romance announcement for awakening.  I'll finish my current games, then go do Awakening. Then...well wait I guess. I do think it looks like a good game. And now that it's confirmed you can choose female I'm open to it.

Though Lady Hawke? really?...lol

That's what I'm curious about. I mean it can't be OUR blight right? It was stopped before it dstroyed Ferelden. But there were 4 blights before that. And of course I wanna know if we get companions, romance, tent times...lol

Okay, given this statement from here, I am absolutely convinced that Hawke is the Grey Warden who slew the first archdemon.

Dragon Age 2 thrusts players into the role of Hawke, a penniless refugee who rises to power to become the single most important character in the world of Dragon Age. Known to be a survivor of the Blight and the Champion of Kirkwall, the legend around Hawke’s rise to power is shrouded in myth and rumor. Featuring an all-new story spanning 10 years, players will help tell that tale by making tough moral choices, gathering the deadliest of allies, amassing fame and fortune, and sealing their place in history. The way you play will write the story of how the world is changed forever.

Well the game is still called "Dragon Age." Maybe there is more than one Blight in the Dragon Age? Or maybe he did survive our Blight and he's just some guy from Lothering.

Now there's an interesting thought. Another possibility is that it's the sixth or seventh Blight.

It has to be "our" Blight. Otherwise the timeline would be too messed up... 400 years in the past sounds like too much. So does in the future. I don't know...

The Archdemon is always a dragon, so I wouldn't be too nitpicky about the title of the franchise.

We don't know what it really is yet....I don't think anyone should jump to conclusions.  I don't think we have enough informaiton to jump to any kind of conclusion.

....other than the human only thing.  That's stinky. Posted Image

Tbh I had double feelings about the continuation of our warden in DA2, since I didn't like what they did in Awakening. So I'm not really disappointed to start out with a new character. I do think it is sad that you can only play a human. That is really limiting. I hope this isn't gonna be Dragon Effect, tho I am a bit worried about all that Rise To Power/General/Spartan pr-spin.

But I'll wait and see and pray there is gonna be a DCL that gives a bit better closure to our warden....

It says he's a Champion of Kirkwall. Is Kirkwall in Ferelden?

Hm, also true. The Blight sounds like the one Blight we know. Survivor of the Blight and Champion of Kirkwall.
Where's Kirkwall? :)

Have Alistair with an elf, just because:

ETA: I love them even more now that I know I won't be playing them in DA2. :)

I swear, I'm going to play my Tabris only to see this kiss.  It's the best kiss in the whole game (ok, the new darf kisses should be pretty awesome, too).

AHA! Our story was at the END of the Dragon Age. So, this predates us.

I'm with you on the mixed feelings. It looks to be a good game on it's own. And better to know NOW than last minute. I can go into it without resentment. I was so mad I preodered Awakening, then a week before release learned no romance was there. I could have handled that, knowing earlier.

But looking at it as a new game...I can do that. I'll still save my wardens games though. And I'll still finish them, and do awakening. And I'll be excite to see more DLC for Origins.
