Wait, wait, wait. But if our "home" is gone, wouldn't that mean Ferelden was destroyed? I guess that no heir thing really was a big deal.
Ugh, if this is true, what a huge pain in the ass Ferelden turned out to be, all for nothing.

It has to be "our" Blight. Otherwise the timeline would be too messed up... 400 years in the past sounds like too much. So does in the future. I don't know...Lady Jess wrote...

I vote for Hawke being the name of the first Grey Warden who defeated the Blight. Is it actually confirmed that this is post-Blight, or just after the devestation of a Blight?
That's what I'm curious about. I mean it can't be OUR blight right? It was stopped before it dstroyed Ferelden. But there were 4 blights before that. And of course I wanna know if we get companions, romance, tent times...lol
Press Release
Hmm...ok, it says champion of Kirkwall, and survivor of the blight. It doesn't say the blight was his rise to power though, which I think is what was making my brain scream "WTF WE defeated the blight not this person!!!". Misunderstanding on my part. It looks as if he is just a survivor that rises to power in some way. Damn...I'm starting to want it.

Parts of Ferelden WERE destroyed though. Lothering for sure. And Wulff's lands. Who knows how many other areas while the roving bands struck before the arch demon and after. I mean Darkspawn were everywhere. So "home" doesn't have to mean the whole country. Unless of course DG says so.

Then I read some more posts, and I saw some potential.

Hmmmm..... I guess it would be alright but as always it's just to early to tell.

The press release says that are reasons why it has to be Hawke - i.e. to me that means the name and the race are important as those things are locked in stone for us. This implies to me that Hawke is a historical figure - one that a legend your Warden might have heard so it's important for these things to be in place.
Our Wardens take place in the "present" so it doesn't matter what race/gender they are as their story is their own. Hawke is out of the past, Hawke WAS a human with this particular background who does something world-altering.
This just reaffirms in my mind That Hawke had some vital role to play in ending the First Blight, because no other event (to my mind) in the past would have such reverberations on future events and lore as the person who either discovered the secret of Warden immunity or the person who discovered that immunity was necessary to defeat the archdemon.

In the Dragon Age tabletop player's guide, the first age is the Divine Age and it says that this was the age of the *second* Blight.
Edit: I guess that would make the first Blight when the darkspawn first appeared and Tevinter fell or whatever. I haven't really bothered to think about it too much before now.

One question....Will there be Griffins?!
Cause I will totally buy this if it has Griffins!

I think that was me that said that and it was sort of a joke. I may not have added enough smiley faces to make that clear.
Anyway, Hawke has been confirmed, I'm just going to wait and see. Nothing I can do about it. As I said before I'm sure it'll be a good game. Am I saddened by no Alistair in DA2? Yes, very much so. Shall I have a huff about it? Probably.

Yes, after you do his personal quest and his approval is high enough. He's very sweet, many prefer to wait for him to initiate the tent time.Phedra wrote...

Thanks I will try that with my next character, I have never waited that long, tee hee.
His approval must also be 90+ (love) to get the initiation. It will happen automatically at any time after his personal quest and he reaches that level when you go to camp.
It will start something like this:

I also heartily recommend Cmessaz' mod CRS if you want to romance Alistair and youi don't have conflicting mods installed. it not only fixes a lot of dialogue bugs but adds some nice romantic scenes for tent times.

The easiest way for me to stay in the friend zone is by breaking up with him after he decides we're together. You don't even need to be careful with what you say then but I suppose those that really hate to dump Alistair might want to avoid doing that.Lady Jess wrote...
I wish I'd have figured out the friend zone trick sooner. Would been a whole lot easier on my first DNF and CEF playthroughs.

I found using the handsome line easiest, choosing "just an observation". that doesn't work for all of mine of course. But Tryna's as likely to point out "oh, hey, you're kinda handsome" as she would be to say "man, who beat you with the ugly stick?" He still stays at warm (tested with gifts, can get to 100 warm actually) and uses that "something on your mind" comment all the time.
